What do you think of Francesca? Is it a bit dated or do you see it as classic? Thanks

yegodsandlittlefishes · 04/10/2013 23:15

I love it. :)

ModeratelyObvious · 04/10/2013 23:16

Very nice.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 04/10/2013 23:19

It's lovely.

Lovely.

SirChenjin · 04/10/2013 23:21

Love it Smile

Not so keen on Franny or Fran though, but maybe that's not an issue?

PoppyWearer · 04/10/2013 23:22

Nn Fran.

No.

sonlypuppyfat · 04/10/2013 23:23

This is my nieces name she gets called Chesca

GreenlyPink · 04/10/2013 23:26

Not a classic and dated.

BigBrassBand · 04/10/2013 23:31

Like it.

ancientbuchanan · 04/10/2013 23:34

Love it

Tikkamasala · 04/10/2013 23:37

Yes Sirchengin I don't like the nicknames, fran, Frankie etc... Nor am I keen on Chesca really. Only the full name. I'm not sure if they could be avoided? Maybe it's one to keep as a middle name only

LalyRawr · 04/10/2013 23:38

My daughter was called Francesca so slightly biased when I say I love it.

We called her Chester or Chess as a nickname.

Mintyy · 04/10/2013 23:39

Utterly beautiful and gorgeous.

Really, a top 3 name.

SirChenjin · 04/10/2013 23:40

I think you can insist on the full name being used, but imo it can be difficult to ensure everyone sticks to your request sadly. Using it as a middle name is a good idea Smile

Gingersnap88 · 04/10/2013 23:44

Will always be shortened to Fran whether you like it or not! My mum hates Fran and only wanted people to use Francesca but they tend to assume.

But, it's not that common and pretty Smile

sonlypuppyfat · 04/10/2013 23:45

People never respect you wanting your child's full name to be used. People shorten everything bastards

BadRoly · 04/10/2013 23:49

Love it - Dd2 should have been a Francesca but dh vetoed it because of the Fran/Frannie thing. She has it for her middle name instead Smile

sleepingbeautiful · 05/10/2013 04:18

I don't like it because it's quite popular among the chav orange tan and shopping with your extensions in rollers brigade where my family is from.
Thick Scouse accent "Francesca ger over ere now or i'll smack yer arrrrss..."

PastaBeeandCheese · 06/10/2013 06:40

I really like it. NN Frankie?

LCHammer · 06/10/2013 06:49

I like it very much.

froubylou · 06/10/2013 07:18

My dd is one. Nn frankie.

I love it. Kids in particular pick nn that they want for just about any name. So pick a name you like and a nn you like and cross your fingers.

MerrilyMoo · 06/10/2013 10:10

Its a lovely, womanly name with good nickname options. Like it a lot.

StayAwayFromTheEdge · 06/10/2013 10:12

I like it, but prefer Frances.

Iwaswatchingthat · 06/10/2013 10:13

I know a loving Francesca who goes by the nickname Francie pronounced Fran -see

Really lovely

Weareboatsremember · 06/10/2013 14:30

Love it! But it's dd's name so a little biased. I think it depends which part of the country you are in as where I live it's a nice and quite classy name, certainly not 'chavvy'.
