A sister for Jupiter?

We have decided to wait until the twins are born to decide their names as it seems we can't settle on two this time round. We're having b/g twins and have a list of possible names that flow and match each other as well as the other DC.

We both fell in love with Jupiter so it's on the list but cannot find a girl's name that matches (topic wise) or flows. We did love Astra Faye but sounds too close to Ash Tray!

We don't like Juniper, Juno as they're too close in name.

Any ideas?

Please give your child a normal middle name.

Luna is an obvious choice although I seem to remember a couple of wags have used it?

LeGavrOrf · 20/09/2013 19:47

Not everyone is bullied by their name. I went it school with a Geronimo, a Tuesday and a Jedediah who were fine and the poor bastard who was bullied was called Robert.

NationMcKinley · 20/09/2013 19:48

.....and I have a relatively common name and was horribly bullied because of the colour of my hair Hmm

Mumzy · 20/09/2013 19:56

Flora or Luna

MultipleMama · 20/09/2013 20:04

I'm really loving the suggestions. I'm on my phone so can't really go back and remember usernames (sorry,) but I love whoever suggested the earth name Giaia was it? Or something like that.

I'm not keen on Luna . Someone mentioned another name that caught my eye but can't remember so I'll go back and look!

Keep the names coming, DH and I are loving looking over them.

littlemisssarcastic - so far everyone I've suggested it to, likes it and had positive reactions.

We'll definitely let you all know what we decide. Why is choosing girl names so much harder? Haha.

I hope your surname isn't something awful like higginbottom or Lilicrap which would let these lovely names down Grin

AlansCatalanCat · 20/09/2013 20:17

Zoe

SoftSheen · 20/09/2013 20:20

Jupiter and Artemis (as suggested by a previous poster) sounds amazing- but they will need strong personalities to carry off such extravagant names.

The other name that immediately sprang to mind was Cressida (Cressy).

And yes, you will need to have the right surname to go with names like these.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 20/09/2013 20:27

Gaia,celeste,or Calliope.

Sockywockydoodah · 20/09/2013 20:30

If not Astra, then how about Aphra? Lovely and underused IMO.

JumpingJackSprat · 20/09/2013 20:33

celine
celeste
seline
caelia

My DS's middle name is Jupiter!

I thought of it the night he was born and fell in love, we went with the first name we had chosen but added Jupiter as a middle name.

Sorry I haven't got any suggestions for your other twin but just wanted to say that!

Oriunda · 20/09/2013 21:40

Cosima? My DS is a Cosmo, named after FIL but also chosen by DH to reflect that he is the world to us. I think Cosma is also a variation.

I think Gaia is beautiful.

Bathsheba · 20/09/2013 21:44

Rigel - we almost used it as a middle name for DD1

thegreylady · 20/09/2013 21:51

Stella
Hera
Antigone
Cassandra
Penelope

I love Aurora, think it sounds lovely with Jupiter! I would love to use it for DC3 if it turns out pink but DH would never agree to that lol! I also think Gaia is very nice and would work well. Good luck!

MultipleMama · 20/09/2013 22:37

We have quite a normal German surname; in the sense that everyone can pronounce it haha.

DH wants to know what you think of Nyx; Goddess of night and Daughter of Chaos?

So far Gaia is a contender.

AlansCatalanCat · 20/09/2013 22:40

Nyx is rather good, but it does sound a bit like it's short for Nicola.

Hmmm. Not keen on Nyx either. It sounds rather harsh and a bit nickname-y / an abbreviation. That's just my opinion though!

MultipleMama · 20/09/2013 22:48

Thanks. We've now vetoed Nyx :) I wasn't too keen.

What about Gemini?

Jupiter and Gemini - related to space/stars and twins?

Ruprekt · 20/09/2013 22:54

Poor kid.

curlew · 20/09/2013 22:55

You're perfectly happy with him being called Ju, I presume?
