Daisy - belle

Honest opinions? I love names that others may think are too 'twee' flowers etc. What do you think of the double barrel? I know these also carry some stigma. We love the name Daisy - but also very aware of its current popularity and figure this would give her something more unique?
Naming decisions are so difficult!!

My first reaction is to say moooooo, it's like the name of a cow in a children's story!

Saying that, I do like both names individually

I think the hyphen makes both names less attractive.

I don't like the hyphen either. They're not my taste of names but if you really like them I would just do Daisy then Belle as a middle name.
If you want something alternative you could use Marguerite (or Margaret), which has traditional nn Daisy.

I don't like hyphens, it just makes me think the parents couldn't pick a favourite between the two names.

oh dear not quite the thoughts I was hoping for! Although I did ask for honesty....not entirely sure how Margaret is related to a twee flower name- can think of anything worse! But looks like I'm not totally crackers as someone knows one!!

Marguerite is the French word for Daisy. Though if Daisy is the name you like I don't see any need for Margaret as a more formal version.

I think the problem with Daisy-Belle is that it would only suit a very small child and she'll only be a small child for a tiny proportion of her life.

I quite like daisy. But double barrelled names scream 'my parents want me to stand out!' She'll spend her life watching eyebrows raise on new acquaintances.

All the children I know with hyphenated names, they are all called by the first part only. By everyone. So she'd always be Daisy. What is the point of hyphen?

The Daisy-Belle i know is 19 beyond cool and i have no doubt she could carry the name to 100!

Well , being a teacher, and very aware that Daisy is top 10 in the county I live in, I was thinking of the potential of her being in a class of a few and wanting her to have something to make her more unique. I thought they went together nicely, and if she doesn't use the belle bit when she is older then so be it!

I actually quite like it, for some reason, though I don't much like Daisy on its own. I think the Belle makes it sound more elegant, rather than bovine or babyish.

I don't know why being a teacher would make me think it was a bad name choice?
As for being a cutesy name I did say from the beginning that I like twee names , and I think as an adult it would be absolutely fine!! All this name stuff is so tricky, people have such strong opinions, such as horrible!! And cow like, but its two names from the top twenty so can't be that mad!! Think we will have to sleep on it! 32 weeks pregnant so still got some time :)

Which may or may not make you loe or not love the name more that you do!

I don't know any little Daisys. It's a lovely name and fine on its own - the Belle doesn't add to it IMHO.

How about Daisy Belinda, Daisy Annabel, Daisy Isabelle? Then you can always use Daisy-Belle as a nickname.

As a nickname it's fine, and I quite like Daisy. But as a whole name, Daisy-Belle sounds pretty redneck American to me, and like something you'd hear in one of those toddler beauty pageants....

Oh gosh, I'm going to be honest, but you're not going to like it.

The name is not twee/cutesy. And the Belle tacked on the end certainly doesn't make it more elegant.

It is very, um, hillbilly.

Is this really the look you're going for...?
