Still on the hunt for that elusive perfect boys' name - what about Brodie/Brody? How would you spell it? Is it too surnamey? Is it a dog's name? Is it 'too' American/Australian? TIA!

WhatAPredicament · 24/06/2013 19:25

Well that has maybe done it! I've got Miss Jean stuck in my head now! Homeland I could have just about lived with! Just to be clear - this is a boy we're talking about!

I know a Brodie-leigh, she is 4. Im not overly keen, though i prefer it for a boy.

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 24/06/2013 19:32

Brodie-Leigh Shock that is awful.
I quite like Brodie for a boy.

JRY44 · 24/06/2013 19:34

I know of three ... 14, 6 and 3.

AuntPittypat · 24/06/2013 19:35

I like it. Sounds either Scottish or surfer-ish to me.

driftwoodsands · 24/06/2013 19:37

Have you ever been to Brodie Countryfair, near Forres in Scotland? It's wonderful. I love the name Grin

TheRealFellatio · 24/06/2013 19:38

I know a young woman called Brodie. I think it's lovely for a boy or a girl.

TheRealFellatio · 24/06/2013 19:39

Brodie-Leigh is awful though.

Cavort · 24/06/2013 19:47

A friend's 6 year old son is called Brody. I like it. Smile

WhatAPredicament · 24/06/2013 19:50

So is it meant to be Brodie for a girl and Brody for a boy? I prefer Brodie tbh.

LittleNoona · 24/06/2013 19:50

Reminds me of Bogan - Australian chav.

laravh · 24/06/2013 19:56

I really like it, for both a boy and girl. But I know a Scottish family with a little boy called Brodie and apparently it means 'brother' which I think is cute

GwenCooper81 · 24/06/2013 19:59

I know a Brodie Smile she's fab and on that basis I love the nameGrin

WhatAPredicament · 24/06/2013 19:59

That's really cute for a meaning Smile. Not convinced I can imagine a grown man called Brodie yet though.

GwenCooper81 · 24/06/2013 20:00

I think Brody is the male version, Brodie the female? Smile

Smilehappy · 24/06/2013 20:01

We are having a boy and our picked name is Brody/Brodie, I like the second way of spelling it but looks more feminine apparently Grin

Anyway we've had lots of negative feedback from the small few we have told but WE DON'T CARE. Lol most say its a girls name, but I would never call a girl Brody! Grin

Lovely name, don't listen to the negativity at all! Smile

Congrats Thanks
