Here in the UK it's a well know cat food brand. We've got a cat and so to me it is just that, catfood. Smile

bananaramma · 29/04/2013 13:49

Yes, this comes to my mind:
www.catslikefelix.co.uk/food/Pages/range.aspx

But if that doesn't bother you or if you're outside the UK, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Locketjuice · 29/04/2013 13:53

A cat Blush sorry!

rachel234 · 29/04/2013 13:58

I'm afraid the cat connotations - both Felix The Cat and the catfood - are quite strong here too.

Metellaestinhortobibit · 29/04/2013 14:12

Love it!
Wanted it for my dd if she'd been a boy. But then I do like a classical name and it means happy, doesn't it?

Catlike · 29/04/2013 15:17

I don't like it at all, sorry. It's partly the cat food connection but I just don't like the way it sounds.

Ham69 · 29/04/2013 16:28

Love it.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 29/04/2013 16:35

Love it. Smile

MummyBurrows · 29/04/2013 17:49

Felix is my cats name...its a popular brand of cat food too so not an ideal choice of name if you live in the UK...

Linguaphile · 29/04/2013 18:38

It's on our short list! No cats here, so that probably helps.

Mousehere · 29/04/2013 18:52

Sorry just think cat

BigBongTheory · 29/04/2013 20:16

Love it. Classic and international. Quite popular now I think.

thermalsinapril · 29/04/2013 20:47

Love it! It's a solid, classic Biblical name, and just a bit quirky too.

Branleuse · 29/04/2013 20:52

love it. it's my best.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 29/04/2013 21:01

It's become quite popular but I personally don't rate it. Cat connotations too much

emmyloo2 · 30/04/2013 06:27

Love it. Wanted it for this baby but she is a girl. I think it's fabulous, although possibly getting more popular. We have a DS already and he is George. I really like Felix!

MonkeyingAroundTown · 30/04/2013 06:27

Hate it for a childs name. Love it for a cats name

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 30/04/2013 06:34

People will be rude about it, but I think it'sthe best name ever!

gorionine · 30/04/2013 06:36

A few years ago I would have said a cat too. I have since met a Felix in his 30', kind, generous personality (not in UK though) It is a very nice name that does mean 'happy'.

carameldecaflatte · 30/04/2013 06:58

my 10 month old son is a Felix and obviously I love it!
It's a latin name meaning happy and lucky and we are happy to have him and he is lucky to be here as we almost lost him.
We had one idiot asking us if we'd named him after the cat food and we just said, "yes, of course we did, our cats love it (they don't) and we thought they'd love him too if we named him after their favorite food" that shut him up.
We had one or two raised eyebrows from family but they all love his name now! [g

diddl · 30/04/2013 13:23

I love it & always have.

I always wanted two boys-Felix & Oscar.

It didn't happen, but I still love both names.

squoosh · 30/04/2013 13:54

Not a name I'm fond of, it's too cat like for a boy and too cat like and too childish for a man.

I always think it sounds like a hiss too if that makes any sense. Probably due to the cat links.

nannyof3 · 30/04/2013 13:55

A cat

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 30/04/2013 18:18

Squoosh, I dont think it's at all childlike. I actually think it ages really well.

Maybe just me...

SadPander · 30/04/2013 20:49

I love it, but dh is very against it due to it being a 'cat name'. He also has a long list of 'dog names' which I am not allowed to use! I would def go for it given the chance though (I do love cats though so personally don't see that connection as a negative).
