I was at school with a Biba who was Edwina in full. The nickname a squillion times cooler than the full Grin and suited/still suits her.

Hebe is a plant, isn't it? Not My Style.

DD2 was known as Biba when she was younger. It was a nickname based on her real name.

Someone did once ask me if we'd named her after the 1960s department store.

Biba is a 60s/70s clothing label which is still on sale in House of Fraser as a retro line. Google it. I really wouldn't use it as a name.

As others have said Phoebe is a good alternative. It was my GGG GM's name who was born in 1820.

DS1 has a Biba in his class who he insists is called beaver.

Bt I do think Biba is a lovely name, not so keen on Hebe - as in heebeegeebees?

I can't believe you would consider calling a child Biba, it would sound an awful lot to me like you were a huge Justin Beiber fan.

Love Hebe though, i know one and she's just the most adorable girl.
