You lovely MNers were very helpful a few weeks ago when I was considering Elizabeth/Elsie (have now totally changed my mind). I have now quite fallen in love with the name Audrey as an alternative, what do you think?

Thanks xx

Love it. I don't know any children called Audrey. I always love the old classic names. Its beautiful:)

schmalex · 19/12/2012 16:03

LOVE it! I would so call my DD this if I had one! Classy and unusual.

SomersetONeil · 19/12/2012 16:49

Love it, on the up. I know of one baby Audrey.

AuntieStella · 19/12/2012 16:53

One of the major Coronation Street characters (since 1970s, and continuing).

Children might not be soap fans, but their parents and grandparents will be. Only consider if you can still manage a polite answer to "as in Roberts?" for the zillionth time.

SomersetONeil · 19/12/2012 17:00

Audrey Hepburn is more famous than Audrey Roberts, and Audrey Tautou isn't exactly a bad association, either...

Girlinpearls · 19/12/2012 17:01

Exquisite name, please use it!!!

Floralnomad · 19/12/2012 17:02

Sorry my MIL is an Audrey ,and she's a bloody nightmare!

Lottapianos · 19/12/2012 17:07

Lovely. I know someone who had a baby girl on Monday and called her Audrey. Hadn't heard the name for ages.

almapudden · 19/12/2012 17:15

Hate it, sorry. I went to school with an Audrey. She had a moustache.

squoosh · 19/12/2012 17:22

I don't like it.

Despite the Hepburn/Tautou connection it still sounds very frumpy to me.

femmeaufoyer · 19/12/2012 17:28

This was the name I was going to call my DD2....I had a DS so never got to use it....it's beautiful. We had chosen Audrey Rose.

tillybean84 · 19/12/2012 19:05

Love it!

Mrsrudolphduvall · 19/12/2012 19:11

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 19/12/2012 19:15

I love it - I posted on here about it when I was pregnant with DS2. Clearly I did not use it!

Bullets · 19/12/2012 19:15

Love it! If we'd had a girl chances are she'd have been Audrey Lulu

spiderlight · 19/12/2012 19:20

I love it. I have an Auntie Audrey who is a truly inspirational woman in so many ways, and I always think of it as a strong but elegant name.

MustafaCake · 19/12/2012 19:22

Lovely name!

very elegant.

suzyrut · 20/12/2012 13:36

Thanks Ladies, seems like overall a positive...just hope she doesn't end up with a moustache! x

I love it.

And you can introduce her to To The Manor Born and Audrey Fforbes-Hamilton Wink

DrSeuss · 20/12/2012 13:38

Audrey as in Tautou, lovely.
Audrey as in my late mother- oh God no!

nahla321 · 20/12/2012 17:24

I love it! Think it is more popular in America than over here at the moment? Envy

moodychops · 20/12/2012 17:30

This is my top choice for if we have a girl. Unfortunately DH hates it Sad

sunnysunnyshine · 20/12/2012 17:39

Lovely. It's on my list. Never watched corrie or know anyone who does (apart from my gran!) so I don't think you need to worry too much about the corrie association...apart from the old folk asking about it maybe.
