I think this will be the name for yellow bump if girl, only 5 days to d.day. But wanted any opinions on this name. Also do you know any Tabithas out there? My daughter is Matilda. Many thanks

Lovely name - I know a Tabitha and she's one of my DDs best friends at school (they're nearly 4yo). Tabitha's name gets shortened to Tabby, Tab and Tabs :)

honeytea · 27/11/2012 09:16

I love the name Tabitha, I think it goes well with Matilda.

RarelyUnreasonable · 27/11/2012 09:22

Love it, and it goes well with Matilda too.
Tabitha was on our short list until our yellow bump turned out to be blue!

LimeLeafLizard · 27/11/2012 09:34

I love it. It is the name I chose for our tooth fairy (!) as DH won't let me put it on the list for our DD.

If you have read Jilly Cooper - reminds me of Rupert CB's daughter.

I don't know any in RL.

TenthMuse · 27/11/2012 09:40

Really like it, but don't like nn Tabby. Goes well with Matilda.

JambalayaWarmMincePie · 27/11/2012 09:44

It's lovely. Smile

Gwennan · 27/11/2012 09:48

Like it and, as noted above, it works well with Matilda. Prefer Tibby to Tabby as far as nicknames go.

Would also place Jemima in the same category as Tabitha & Matilda so that might be another one to consider.

wewereherefirst · 27/11/2012 09:50

Ooh love Tabitha and it goes beautifully with Matilda, both were my choices if my two were girls.

Fifi2406 · 27/11/2012 10:11

Alisvolatpropiis · 27/11/2012 11:41

mattab · 27/11/2012 11:47

Yes I love it , my DD's middle name

BartletForTeamGB · 27/11/2012 12:29

I love it but it just wouldn't go with our surname.

mignonette · 27/11/2012 12:29

I love it.

I can't hear Tabitha without adding <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&tbo=d&biw=1366&bih=677&tbm=isch&tbnid=ijjpzQnF-2CQUM:&imgrefurl=www.fiction.us/potter/tk/tk.htm&docid=axbOjCB8ad_tOM&imgurl=www.fiction.us/potter/tk/tkpics/tom20.jpg&w=517&h=536&ei=u_C1UI-QLsfZ0QW7zIEY&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=814&vpy=337&dur=2661&hovh=229&hovw=220&tx=145&ty=192&sig=113574539567410238599&page=1&tbnh=144&tbnw=145&start=0&ndsp=34&ved=1t:429,r:24,s:0,i:161" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Twitchit in my head. There are worse associations though.

I think there will always be a connection to our feline friends, but at it will lose its connection after a while, after all Tom did, didn't he? Thanks for all comments and here's to taking the name back for the humans.

Careful! I have a 6 year old matilda and really wanted my now three year old to be tabitha but when of whoever I told made a witch connection, (tabotha from bewitched and matilda that magic kid)

Ooooo spooky, can't say that would put me off. Did it stop you or did you just changed your mind? I'm two days off due date and having name wobbles

WonkyWilly · 30/11/2012 17:15

I love Tabitha and it goes really nicely with Matilda! Will you use nn Tabby? I wouldn't shorten it as it is so nice just as it is!

birdofthenorth · 30/11/2012 17:21

Adore.
