I think we have reached some name decisions...!

Boy: Rafferty (Raf or Raffy for short)

Girl we're still unsure of though, short list is currently:

Emmeline
Serena
Iona
Iris
Alexa

Thoughts, criticisms, praise etc most welcome.

Love all your girl names.

I also like Rafferty, but always dither about names beginning with R incase they couldn't pronounce there R's.

TequilaMockingMagpie · 26/10/2012 21:25

All lovely , apart from Kitty .

out2lunch · 26/10/2012 21:28

raffa and serena - tennis theme??

ProcrastinatingPanda · 26/10/2012 21:29

I don't like any of them sorry, apart from Iris.

ivanapoo · 26/10/2012 21:30

i love Iona. really love it, it's by far my favourite. also like Kitty.

i like Raffi, but much prefer Rafael to Rafferty.

Have i been worse enough? Grin

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/10/2012 21:47

Rafferty and Serena are both lovely.

Ham69 · 26/10/2012 21:48

Love Rafferty.
Emmeline would probably be shortened to Emma or misheard as Emily.
Iona just sounds like 'I own her' to me. Not great.
Serena - Williams
Iris- love it!
Kitty- like it.

Rafferty and Iris get my vote.

OwedToAutumn · 26/10/2012 21:48

I like them all except Serena. I like Iona the most.

PuppyMonkey · 26/10/2012 21:49

Love Kitty.

messagetoyourudy · 26/10/2012 21:52

I know an Emmeline and she is know as Meena, which I think is a lovely nn,

I really like Kitty but then my neice is called this so maybe I'm biased.

KateShmate · 26/10/2012 21:59

Ahh I like them all - very very similar to my girls names, infact I have an Alexa Kitty!

We've got an Emme, and FWIW she has never been misheard or called anything else :)

Only one I'm not too sure on is Iona - maybe its just me but I'm just not keen on the way it sounds? Sorry!

out2lunch · 26/10/2012 22:22

Grin op cute

AreYouAbleMabel · 26/10/2012 23:16

Rafferty is fab. Kitty would be my pick from your girls followed by Iris.

Love Rafferty and all your girl choices except Iona. Alexa is my fave.

jellybeans · 27/10/2012 16:20

Emmeline..reminds me of old ladies (used to work with many called that)
Serena...love it
Iona...like it
Iris....reminds me of eyes..
Alexa..love it

jellybeans · 27/10/2012 16:21

Oh forgot rafferty..hugely dislike it sorry

mathanxiety · 27/10/2012 19:29

I love Emmeline and Serena. Kitty is nice but I would use Katherine on the BC.

Not keen on Rafferty. Reminds me of 'riff raff'.

MrsHBaby3 · 28/10/2012 08:25

Emmeline because I think of Pankhurst

ivanapoo · 28/10/2012 08:54

Thanks everyone. Rafferty seems quite divisive but it's the only boy's name we've found we can both tolerate...

Just to be contrary I want to throw another girl name in the mix:

Fenella nn Nell.

Worried it's a bit pretentious...
