we are stuck! We love the name Louie but it is ds2's middle name - is this really bad? Will they hate us when they're old enough to realise. We need a French theme name and it's down to Pascal or Louie... Having the baby on tues (c-section)... Already got a Luc and jacques ... Help

Don't do it. This happened to my brothers - the elder one decided that he didn't like his first name, would have liked to have swapped to his middle name instead, but couldn't because it is my younger brothers' name. He is still really annoyed with our parents for "giving his name away".

I also think Luc and Louie /Louis are too similar and run the risk of both being shortened to Lu/Lou at some point. There are loads of great French names you could choose instead.

My brother in laws, ironically called marc louis and louis pierre clearly went through this, and the elder basically now has no middle name, it is as if when the youngest one was named louis marc lost his middle name.

Basking - the little boy might not be so pleased as an adult though.

Op - all the very best for today!!
