The thread on grandmothers names has given me loads of inspiration for DC2, so I'm now looking for the same for male names.

Mine were William and Ronald
DH were William and Harry

I've just gone back about 3 generations on both sides and ther is not much variety!!

We have Robert, William, Peter, John, James, Alexander and Joseph - each name loads of times.

Not wanting to out myself, I'll give you mine, DH's and some great uncles, in no particular order.

James, Edward, Ronald, Francis, Earnest, Charles, Albert, Eric.

Repeat in a different order for middle names.

Herbert & Leslie Sad
DHs were Bo & Bengt which are even worse!!!

Robert (Bobby) and...not sure I've ever been told the other one. Aunties and Uncles just refer to him as 'dad'. Mind you, he dies 60 years ago, so doesn't come up much.

William and George (dh's gfathers)

Wasn't much variety in the old days, was there?

Though Herbert (Bert) was known as Vic.
