The thread on grandmothers names has given me loads of inspiration for DC2, so I'm now looking for the same for male names.

Mine were William and Ronald
DH were William and Harry

I've just gone back about 3 generations on both sides and ther is not much variety!!

We have Robert, William, Peter, John, James, Alexander and Joseph - each name loads of times.

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 14/08/2012 17:47

James and Edward ( always called Ned)

LynetteScavo · 14/08/2012 17:47

Not wanting to out myself, I'll give you mine, DH's and some great uncles, in no particular order.

James, Edward, Ronald, Francis, Earnest, Charles, Albert, Eric.

Repeat in a different order for middle names.

Hulababy · 14/08/2012 17:49

Harry (full name Harold)
Great grandad - Reg (RN - Reginald Joseph)

DH's grandad - Jack (real name John James)

Snap with Raah Peter and Francis (Frank) here too.

MrsJohnDeere · 14/08/2012 17:52

GnocchiNineDoors · 14/08/2012 17:52

Dhs - Bob/Robert and Sam/Samuel

TheFowlAndThePussycat · 14/08/2012 17:52

Aw, I thought I'd be the first Horace, but no! Other one was Harry. Dh's were Wilson and Bedrich (he was Czech).

surroundedbyblondes · 14/08/2012 17:53

Herbert & Leslie Sad
DHs were Bo & Bengt which are even worse!!!

Astr0naut · 14/08/2012 17:53

Robert (Bobby) and...not sure I've ever been told the other one. Aunties and Uncles just refer to him as 'dad'. Mind you, he dies 60 years ago, so doesn't come up much.

William and George (dh's gfathers)

Wasn't much variety in the old days, was there?

surroundedbyblondes · 14/08/2012 17:54

Though Herbert (Bert) was known as Vic.

CPtart · 14/08/2012 17:55

Michael
and Athol ( a family name of 4 generations and much to DG disgust, we did not carry it on!!!)

Pantah630 · 14/08/2012 17:58

Andreas and James

RillaBlythe · 14/08/2012 17:58

Arthur and Harry.

DP's were Thomas, Thomas & Harry (grandmother remarried post war)
