I think I like old fashioned names - anyone care to share what their grandmothers/great-grandmothers were called.

Margaret and Peggy...

Great grandmother was Charity Rose which I think is ace...

Maureen and violet.

Ggm was amy joan, known as joan and her sister was Ethel Lillian known as Lilly, I think she also had a sister named Kathleen

Elsie and Marie

gladys may and lillian.
also great aunt Enid and great grandmother miriam.

I quite like Enid ( also from worst witch books) and May but only have boys!!

My granny was Vera, she had sisters called Phyllis, Cicely and Gwyneth.

Grandmothers - Christina and Maureen.
Great grandmothers - Alice, Julia, Mary-Anne and Anne.

DH's - Catherine and Kathleen.
Great grandmothers - Eliza, Catherine, Anne and Brigid.

I love Christina (probably because I loved her so much and still miss her, 13 years on), Julia, Alice and Eliza.

Oh and paternal GM was Winifred.

DH had Doris and Doris !

Dh were-Sarah,dds middle name to placate mil and Rose which I think is a lovely name.

Lilian, and Betty (not short for Elizabeth, she was the surprise baby after a few years gap, and one of the older sisters named her after a school friend who was Elizabeth nn Betty!)

Hilda (can't see that one coming back too soon :)) and Ellen (Nellie) who died when my dad was 16. Also had Great Aunty Flo (Florence) (grandmas's sister) and Aunty Bette who was my grandad's girlfriend as other "grannies".

Ceinwyn and Nancy (though her actual name was Margaret IIRC)
