What exactly is a Mumsnet name?

I'd appreciate it if someone could enlighten me,and perhaps provide a few examples,as I keep seeing it mentioned on this board.

Someone needs to explain what the big deal is with the name Kelly. I lived overseas for years so I may have missed any negative connotations to the name. I have a cousin called Kelly (the only Kelly I have ever met) and have often thought her name was kind of classic in a breezy 70's sort of way. Like Kirsty but obviously according to posts on MN I've missed something

Still think your logic is wrong though, badgerina. If I've interpreted it too strictly, then you should explain how you actually meant it.

In the past month (IRL, not online) I've had four friends / acquaintances give birth. Two girls called Seren and two boys called Xander. Mumsnet names.

Isn't it weird that even with all the thought that goes into choosing a name these days you are always influenced by what's popular or 'edgy' even if you try really hard to avoid trends.

I mean two Serens and two Xanders! Pretty funny.

Thankfully (for me, obviously not for mumsnet) I'm a commoner when it comes to names. Seem to only like really popular names. How terrible of me
