Still undecided how I feel about this name, DH has put it as one of his favs. What sort of nicknames might she end up with?
Thanks everyone.

I used to love it. In fact i wanted it for dd2 but dh vetoed it. I'm glad now - all the names I liked I have gone off, because there are lots of them around. (Also loved Freya and Isabella.)

My 2 year old niece is Imogen and her nn's include Ims, Mims, Imy, Shimmy shoe and Shermeez!!!

Queenofcake · 07/07/2012 00:06

Both my DC have always had an Immy in their class - 7 ro 8 schools between them and they are 13 and 11yo.

All the Immy's have been lovely girls. Smile

I knew an artistic, sociable and caring immy. I' sad to have lost contact with her. I would check the rate at which it's popularity is growing, in case you are looking for something a bit different.

Jackie432 · 13/07/2012 17:44

Love the name Imogen and I know one 3 year old who is adorable :-)

hypoxia · 13/07/2012 17:48

It's a lovely name but I know so many, it's become a bit too common now. If I had a DD I'd give her an ordinary but more simple name, if that makes sense. There's something I don't like about 'flowery' names which become common.

Cheriefroufrou · 13/07/2012 17:49

Love it, only "know" the BB one but it doesn't put me off the name

it reminds me of Megan (which I also like), even though its totally different! Grin

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 13/07/2012 17:51

I only know the bb one and remember that jingle she sang for radio going its Imogen it's Imogen! But it's a lovely name and she's not so bad (suppose unless your giggsys wife)

Wouldn't put me off.

littleweed10 · 14/07/2012 20:37

Yep on my short list too! I agree with other posters - a strong name which is good for a baby, little girl, teenager adult. I hadn't thought of the nn Jenny,

flubba · 14/07/2012 20:52

Love it. Have one myself, (now 5yo) ~ named after my best friend (a bit older than 5 :)). Have only known these two in my life.

BikeRunSki · 14/07/2012 20:56

I have only ever known one. She must be about 30 now. She was always called Immy.

Badgerina · 14/07/2012 23:15

Love it! I know one who is 3 and of course there's Imogen Heap, who is just über cool (in my book anyway).

It would be high on our list if we were expecting a girl.

lisad123 · 14/07/2012 23:16

I have two friends called Imogen, both lovely and one nicknamed Imi

Badgerina · 14/07/2012 23:16

Sorry forgot to add: nn for the little one I know is "Immie".

sharklet · 14/07/2012 23:18

I am about to have a boy - but if it had been a girl she would have been called Imogen. I love the name - it is strong and individual. I know a few but they are mainly in their 30s.

Bluestocking · 14/07/2012 23:19

I love it. The only Imogen I've ever actually known was occasionally called Mims but was usually called by her full name.

perceptionreality · 14/07/2012 23:24

I know one. I don't hate it but would be unlikely to use it.

EllenParsons · 15/07/2012 03:02

I love it. I do know loads though. I went to school with one, knew about 5 at uni, worked with a little Imogen years ago etc etc - I don't think it's too popular though, more medium popular?

NurseBernard · 15/07/2012 07:02

I don't like it, I think it's a very hard name.

Ironic really, as the collection of letters isn't at all dissimilar from my own, with the I, o and e even all in the same place and sequence!

LuellaLovesLavender · 15/07/2012 12:42

Love it, don't know any though!
