Made-up name

OK, I don't want to give the actual name that I am thinking of (for a baby of either sex - due to be born in 2 weeks - eek!) but here is the formula/ problems:

Rhymes with two different names, one of each sex, so doesn't have an 'odd' ring to it.

Is not an actual name but is a word with positive associations - not a very long word BTW

Is not slang for anything nor the name of anything odd (as far as I can see from extensive google searches) - except for being the name of one (innocuous enough) body part in another language e.g. (but not) Japanese for elbow

I like the sound of it, I am sure that some friends will think it's an odd choice or even odd to make up a name but I don't like very popular names and this would have meaning for me.

What do you think - mad or brilliant?!

OP posts:

Yes must be Winn. Which I think was actually on the ONS baby names list so isn't exactly made up. You realise kids at school will immediately nickname them Loser?

And just the thought of siblings with rhyming names is making me cringe. Urgh. Sorry, no.

SunshineOutdoors · 25/06/2012 15:23

I am amazed at how people think I am teasing them

You're coming in, dropping little clues, whilst refusing to just say the name and you're amazed that we feel teased?

I thought the point of your op was to try and get opinions on a name.. not to ask us to guess what a non-name is from a few clues.

seeker · 25/06/2012 15:24

But Win isn't made up.

SunshineOutdoors · 25/06/2012 15:25

The more I read op's last post the more annoyed I'm getting Grin

badtime · 25/06/2012 15:28

Even?
It's not 'odd', and there is something about balance somewhere as well.

I know nothing about Glee.

NarkedRaspberry · 25/06/2012 15:40

Kin?

My first is in attention but not in seeking...

PrettyPrinceofParties · 25/06/2012 15:45

I used to work for a bloke called Wynn. Total tosser. OP, you've obviously never been to Wales, because to quote that great Welshman, Tom Jones, 'it's not unusual'....

Bit disappointed it wasn't something more outlandish to be honest. Humph.

Could it be a character from Glee's name?

wimbledonisfuckingdull · 25/06/2012 16:52

That's why I posted Puck. I haven't caught up, because she is being ridiculous.
I'd like you all to guess the name of my ginger cat.

wimbledonisfuckingdull · 25/06/2012 16:54

Just read back. Curry has the answer I think.

PrettyPrinceofParties · 25/06/2012 16:55

Is there a clue in ginger? Geri? Now guess the name of my 2 springer spaniels....

QueenOfTheGymBunny74 · 25/06/2012 16:59

Wimbledon: Blackie?

Excuse my shoddy spelling there, kinda defeated my point! Really should put my big ugly glasses on. Blush

PercyFilth · 25/06/2012 17:19

If you go back to the original post, she said it was

not an actual name but is a word with positive associations

Not something completely "made up", but a word which (she thinks) has not made the transition to a name. So it is something like Win, although, as people have said, that does exist as a name with different spellings. And as a diminutive as it stands (I had an Auntie Win).

I am infuriated by the continued refusal to state which language she's on about. I certainly am put in mind of a number of body parts though Wink

LynetteScavo · 25/06/2012 17:34

"What do you think - mad or brilliant?!"

Neither, actually.

Am I thick? What is the actual name, then? Struggling...

PrettyPrinceofParties · 25/06/2012 20:45

Don't understand the outing herself thing. Surely once the baby is born, people will kinda know what she called it?
