It's not for a baby, it's for a puppy. :)

Poppy? Daisy?

squoosh · 07/06/2012 16:00

Hyacinth

FootballFriendSays · 07/06/2012 16:01

Meadow - to have them all! ( just heard it on another thread)

BlueChampagne · 07/06/2012 16:01

(Dog) Rose

MagdalenaAlec · 07/06/2012 16:08

Violet or Iris (yes, I do love the colour purple..)

CheerfulYank · 07/06/2012 16:14

I do like Hyacinth...she would be the lady of the house for sure. :o

Daisy and Poppy are lovely but out because I know people with those names.

Petunia?

Magdalena I like the color purple too, what do you think of Lilac or Lavender? I do love Iris and Violet as well!

The puppy in question (not born yet :) ) is half golden retriever and half black lab...the pups from a previous litter with the same parents look like black labs with slightly wavier fur.

Surely all pups of that sort are called Bracken or Bramble, by law?

You could go for Fern -- sounds good for young bracken.

Lancelottie · 07/06/2012 16:20

Ooh, just realised s/he'll be black. Pansy? Belladonna?

Lunarlyte · 07/06/2012 16:21

I think that Camille is the nicest flower name. Might be too ... serious (?) for a doggie, though.

If I were naming the dog, I'd call her Hebe (pronounced 'hee-bee')

Lancelottie · 07/06/2012 16:23

Bay?
[wuff]

softpaw · 07/06/2012 16:27

Sweetpea

CheerfulYank · 07/06/2012 16:32

Sweetpea is nice! I also love Camille, Lunar. :)

Our dog is Rosie. We're so imaginative.

MonsieurChatouille · 07/06/2012 16:38

And he's a black lab too.

MonsieurChatouille · 07/06/2012 16:38

Whatever name you pick, remember you will have to holler it in public! My fave is Hyacinth. Lavender cute but danger of being shortened to Lavvy - you may not wish to shout that in park:)

CheerfulYank · 07/06/2012 16:47

I do like Rosie...also Primrose. :)

sweetpea shortens to sweetie or sweet...it's a good name

sugarspiceandallthingsnice324 · 07/06/2012 17:07

Posy the dog

CheerfulYank · 07/06/2012 18:58

Posy is cute!

What about Marigold? I loved L.M. Montgomery's book "Magic for Marigold" when I was little, and the mother dog is named Goldie so that might be sweet. However, don't know if it would work for a black dog. :) I also like Buttercup but it's probably out for the same reason!

PercyFilth · 07/06/2012 19:14

I think Pansy is the nearest to a black flower that would suit a dog.

MrsLetch · 07/06/2012 19:16

Dogs I know are...

Poppy, Daisy, Rosie, Pansy.

All good dog names to me Grin
