We have a Lucia.

Just found out it might be a girl (she wasn't sure, but it's all we've got to go on)

So far I like

Felicity
Penelope
Tabitha (cat, I know, but we are in Germany so less of a problem)
Gabrielle
Josephine

Any more of that ilk? Have tried Nymbler, too.

Beate is a German name, isn't it? I don't know if it's a name in its own right or just a diminuitive of Beatrice, but I used to know a German Beate, lovely name.

My DD1 is Penelope and it is the COOLEST name ever - she is Pen, Penpots, Penpants, Penny and Penelope and rocks the name.

DD2 is Constance but always known as Connie.

Our other girl names on our list were:

Josephine
Gabriella
Claudia
Marianne

but our absolute favourite was Valentina. I think Valentina and Lucia go very well together (we'd have called her either Valentina or Nina for short, not Val or Tina, obv).

DC3 ended up being a boy and so we called him Kit.

We're in Germany too, and have a Beatrice. It is known, but not common - they pronounce it Bey-a-triss. Beatrix is more popular. We also considered Felicity and Penelope, but the way the Germans pronounce Penelope Cruz - Penne loppy (with the emphasis on loppy) just put me off.
