Hmm whoever said Oscar was posh?? I have one, when I call him all the boys and half the dogs look up.

yy Ludo. Have slight regrets I didn't call DS this. Love it.

TheSurgeonsMate · 05/05/2012 20:34

Jocasta - we liked this but were told by others we weren't posh enough...

LineRunner · 05/05/2012 20:36

Bo

She is on The Voice. Kooky, posh. Talentless has also been mentioned by some posters...

EBDTeacher · 05/05/2012 20:36

I like Jody for a boy.

Geranium3 · 05/05/2012 20:40

Zillah for a girl?

mummyox · 05/05/2012 20:41

Don't go for Jocasta - can't believe people even consider this - see link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oedipus_the_King

LineRunner · 05/05/2012 20:43

Medea would be worse.

FrauGrau · 05/05/2012 20:56

Florian and Pancetta (oops!) I mean Araminta.

FullBeam · 05/05/2012 21:00

What about a name from one of the cast of Made in Chelsea?

Hugo/Spencer/Jamie/Ollie/Binky/Cheska/Caggie/Millie?

GlaikitFizzog · 05/05/2012 21:07

django is my fantasy boy name and if I ever become a hippy I will use it.

tammytoby · 05/05/2012 21:21

Florian is a top 10 boys name in Germany currently.

hugebluebump · 05/05/2012 21:28

Not sure what excactly 'kooky posh' names are, but I'm assuming you're looking for cool, 'non-common' names?

I like these
Arlo
Clement
Rufus
Thaddeus
Quentin
Cosmo
Tristan
Dashiell
Benedict
Penelope
Cleo
Arabella
Seraphina
Violet
Evangelina
Florence

ihateshopping · 05/05/2012 21:35

Wow, thanks guys. I'm loving quentin, hugo, tarquin and a couple of others. Will have to see what dh thinks. He likes quin, and I do too but I think it sounds like a shortend version of a name rather then just quin.

OP posts:
EBDTeacher · 05/05/2012 21:54

Is Quin not a bit too close to quim?

BorisJohnsonsHair · 05/05/2012 21:55

Rex
and
Dido

hugebluebump · 05/05/2012 22:31

I like Quinn - very cool. Would put Quentin on bc though.

pinkmagic1 · 05/05/2012 22:35

Annabelle

hermionestranger · 05/05/2012 22:42

I have a Leander, you do get Leanne though because people assume that's what is written.

I love Blaise but dh said no.

What about Hector, Lysander, Theodore or Theodora for a girl? YY to hero for a girl.

BBQJuly · 05/05/2012 22:45

Quentin and Tarquin sound very stereotypically posh to me. Not useable everywhere just yet IMHO.

threeleftfeet · 05/05/2012 22:48

Raphaela
Rafferty

MerylStrop · 05/05/2012 22:52

Caspar
Hector
Ursula
Polly

(this is a rl family I vaguely know - they are the definition of kooky posh) fab names

hugebluebump · 05/05/2012 22:58

I agree that Tarquin sounds quite posh. I don't know of any real life ones.

The others are all quite normal. Not only do I know a fab (unposh) Quentin but I also think of Quentin Tarantino, Quentin Blake etc. - nothing posh about them.

Love Rafferty as well.

JoInScotland · 05/05/2012 23:08

Babyno3tobe I hate to burst your bubble, but I have an Aunt Louella who is about 77. It is the Anglicised, feminine form of Lwellyn which is Welsh (yes, my family has Welsh blood in it).

I've not met a Louella-May so that might be original.

FunnysInLaJardin · 05/05/2012 23:12

both DS's names appear here at least once Grin and I love Florian but couldn't do that to a boy.
