you won't go wrong with any of them, they're all good.

my personal preference: James is best, Lucas a closeish second, Matthew a bit of a trailing third.

All fantastic names, proper sensible won't embarrass you names.
My order of preference is Matthew, Lucas then James.

I like them all (not my personal favourites but all nice names) in the order you have written them I.e. Lucas best....James and Matthew a little bit more boring IMO. I would definitely go with Lucas (maybe use 1 or both of the other names as mns - also gives you an option of changing your mind later as I know a few people who use their middle names as their first names)...

Lucas always sounds like Mucas to me :(

James and Matthew are gorgeous, classic names that will suit a little boy but also a man, and won't embarress him when he's older (and called Bear, Tangerine etc.... )

I'm not keen on any of these I'm afraid. There are a lot of children called Matthew and James. And they are certainly OK names and won't date. Whereas Lucas might fall into the faddy names category.
