Middle name will be Elizabeth (my mother's middle name)

This is our shortlist of two, we can't decide between them. DH prefers Sadie, I think I prefer Iris. what do you think?

I love the name Sadie, but I do Iris Elizabeth is a better name overall. Its nice, simple, classic. Sadie Elizabeth is a bit too vowelly.

Stellan · 20/04/2012 10:17

Iris.

It's just better for when you're 30 and want to be taken seriously.

telsa · 20/04/2012 10:30

Sadie is absolutely gorgeous - and Sadie Elizabeth is really coolk - sassy and traditional in one. ( only know one Sadie and that is a nn for Mercedes - very glam)

squoosh · 20/04/2012 10:48

Iris. Much nicer. Much, much nicer.

ripsishere · 20/04/2012 10:53

Iris is lovely. Sadie is my friends grandmother.

Sadie else much better IMO. Lovely name

Surf25 · 20/04/2012 11:24

Iris Elizabeth is lovely!

toobreathless · 20/04/2012 11:36

Iris is lovely, not sure how keen you are to have a more unusual name? I think that Iris may see a surge in popularity, we already know three under 1s with this name.

Sade also very nice.

LexieSinclair · 20/04/2012 11:37

Iris. I think Iris Elizabeth sounds beautiful. Smile

Beamur · 20/04/2012 11:39

I prefer Iris, but like the slightly quirkier feel to Sadie too.

BBQJuly · 20/04/2012 11:58

Sadie is a great name, simple but a bit quirky as Beamur says.

Don't like Iris - too ponderous and I don't like the "is" ending (Doris, Iris, Gladys, Lois, Phyllis all sound quite frumpy to me).

SodoffBaldrick · 20/04/2012 12:02

What BBQ said, exactly.

birdofthenorth · 20/04/2012 12:07

Love love love Sadie. Trying to persuade DH it's a cracker if this one is a girl! Sadie Elizabeth is gorgeous.

MarySA · 20/04/2012 12:24

I love the name Iris. Not keen on Sadie at all. It will be one of those names that will be in fashion for a year or two then out of fashion. But I think Iris is a kind of timeless name. And very pretty.

DottieRose · 20/04/2012 12:47

Iris Elizabeth is fab! Sadie is not nice imo.

tummytickler · 20/04/2012 14:10

My 11 year old is Iris - beautiful, classic, elegant and gorgeous. Sadie is also lovely, but has a cuter feel imo.

Crazytictac · 20/04/2012 14:18

Both equally lovely, good name choices!

I think Sadie might be a little less popular than Iris which seems to be having a mini revival at the moment. Don't know if that helps!

Fabnews · 20/04/2012 18:05

Don't really like either but iris at a push.

PuffPants · 20/04/2012 18:09

I quite like Sadie but it does make me think Sadist Grin

gafhyb · 20/04/2012 19:23
