We are having a little boy in a few months and I really love both names. Thoughts please?

Max

My cousin has a George Maxwell and he is very cute - could that be an option?

usualsuspect · 26/03/2012 07:45

Max

tiredteddy · 26/03/2012 08:07

Max. I have one it is a great name!

IAmYourSingingTelegram · 26/03/2012 08:16

Max is much nicer.

exoticfruits · 26/03/2012 08:31

George.
Max is very popular- and apparently the top name for a dog at the moment.

Montsti · 26/03/2012 11:14

I like both but prefer Maximilian nn. Max. Only problem with George for me is the lack of nn. unless I'm missing something!

emmyloo2 · 26/03/2012 13:37

George! (but I am biased - I have a fabulous 16 mth old George). Max is also great thought but I would use Maxwell as the full name. It is also more popular than George.

We call our George G-man or Georgie. he named himself Georgie recently and so that has become his nickname...

jaquelinehyde · 26/03/2012 13:40

George

but I like Max also.

shoobidoo · 26/03/2012 13:40

Both quite popular but I prefer Max (Maximilan on bc).

Monsti, why on earth would you need to shorten George Hmm?

SparkyMcSparrow · 26/03/2012 13:42

Max

cakegoblin · 26/03/2012 14:56

George!
Max is soooo Kerry Katona.

DoubleGlazing · 26/03/2012 21:32

George - it sounds more classic than Max, and it's not a nickname.

icarriedawatermelon2 · 26/03/2012 21:33

Max, a beautiful name

greencat23 · 27/03/2012 20:43

Max

MrsAmaretto · 27/03/2012 20:46

George

ghosteditor · 27/03/2012 20:48

Love them both!

Frontpaw · 27/03/2012 20:49

Emmyloo - ditto! G-man, G, G-G, Mr G, Georgie...

welovesausagedogs · 27/03/2012 22:32

Max is so 90's - George by far

exoticfruits · 28/03/2012 08:09

If Max is 90's why are there so many babies called Max at the moment?!
I do however agree that George is much nicer.

welovesausagedogs · 28/03/2012 09:25

Perhaps it's having a revival, but my step-sister grew up during the 90's and there wer 3 max's at her nursery, 2 in her primary school class, and 5 when she was at secondary. Maybe it's just me but it just seems so common in the 90's and not quite ready for a revival yet.

Pasiphae · 28/03/2012 09:55

I like Max as a nickname for a longer name, otherwise it's a bit boring.

George is nice, trending right now, I would think.

3boysgirlontheway · 28/03/2012 10:49

George, Max is lovely, but, done to death.
