only know one child called Lucy she is 5 now and a nicer little girl you couldn't hope to meet. I love the name.

I only know one Lucy and she was awesome - I love Lucy as a name but I could never use it now - not because she 'ruined' it but cos she is Lucy and no one else is, iyswim. Lots of Juicy-Lucy nn, but she started most of them so... We often called her Luce, but as in 'Luce' not Loose - never thought of it at 'Loose' before!

I love Amber too - don't know if its cos I wasn't around in the 80s that I don't know why its 80's?.

I think go for Lucy - its gorgeous and timeless and her dad loves it too! What about mn? Lucy Amber?

Don't go for Alfie, every teen mum has called their boy Alfie, its common in both senses imo.

Jack, Mark, Zach, Tom, Sam, Julian, Max, Josh/ua, Stefan, Matthew for boys (in the same vein as Lucy/Amber IMO)

insanityscratching, mnistooaddictive said that Lucy is a dog's name, but I say, what's wrong with that? Though we were a bit Hmm when Blue Peter named their dof Lucy weeks after we had our Lucy.

Puremince · 16/03/2012 18:49

dog, not dof!

I actually said it was an animal name not just dogs. My dc are VERY good at pointing out all the animals that share my name!
