Something I never thought I would be saying - can you help us name our triplets?

Although I'm 28 weeks gone, I still can't believe this is happening. On our second course of IVF DH and I managed to concieve and we are expecting triplets! We are absolutely over the moon and are still praying for a safe pregnancy. We've found out that it will be two boys and a girl we are having so we need names! I like strong, classic names with good nickname potential for boys and a really pretty, feminine name for a girl.

So far we've briefly cobbled together the names Esther, Juliet and Hope for our DD and Rupert, Alfred, George and Stanley as possibilities for our DSs. Would you be able to help us expand our list?

gentlydownthestream Congratulations. Personally, I would go for Esther or Hope for your DD and George and Stanley for DSs.

Italiangreyhound · 03/03/2012 22:22

gentlydownthestream I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but how common is triplets, I wonder, did you know early on? We are about to have fertility treatment, I had not considered the chance of having three. It must be exciting and a bit scary too! In the nicest way! All very best wishes for you in your pregnancy and for you three precious little ones.

Italiangreyhound · 03/03/2012 22:23

PS gentlydownthestream no need to reply to me!

nbee84 · 03/03/2012 22:23

What about Christopher shortened to Kit

gentlydownthestream · 04/03/2012 11:01

I really do like Kit, thanks. So many beautiful names keep coming to me so I think I'm going to have to write a list, will post on here when it is complete!
Italiangreyhound, I did a bit of research into this and apparently there is around a 3% chance of concieving triplets - not sure how reliable that data is though. It is very exciting but I have no idea how I will cope with three little ones! Good luck with your own treatment.

Okay, I would have the following sib sets -

BBB - Christopher (Kit), Arthur (Arty) and Wilfred (Wilf)
GGG - Martha, Sadie and Iris
BBG - Henry, Rupert and Ada
GGB - Sylvia, Violet and Alfred

I know you said you're having BBG but it's always good to be prepared!

madaboutmadmen · 04/03/2012 13:06

Love, love, love Esther, this was my name last time I was pregnant, then I had a boy but I love his name too. Rupert and Alfred - no, especially Rupert, George and Stanley are lovely though.

Hoping for an Esther myself in about 7 months, I'm bloody stuck for boys names!

upatdawn · 04/03/2012 15:34

Massive congratulations, you must be so excited! We have a Sid and a Nicholas and they love their names. We also have a Dexter, although he is always Dex. Out of your list I love Sid, Jasper, Wilfred and Rufus for your DSs and Rosa, Florence, Juliet and Hope for a DD. I think Hope would be particularly fitting.
A good sib set would be - Sid Rufus, Wilfred Jasper and Florence Hope.
Sid, Wilf and Flo would be adorable!

PeanutButterCupCake · 04/03/2012 23:36

Henry Theodore and Beatrice Smile

MuddlingThroughItAll · 05/03/2012 21:39

Sylvia Audrey, Rupert Alfred and George Arthur. I think a subtle link between them like the same middle initial would be lovely!

Italiangreyhound · 09/03/2012 19:36

gentlydownthestream thank you so much for your kind words.

I like:

Benjamin or Benedict / Ben
Michael / Mikey / Micky
Henry / Harry (although prefer just Henry)
Nathaniel
and
Louis

Clara
Pearl
Estella
Cora
Eloise
Lydia
Helene
Lois
Leila
and
Evangeline

Are any of your triplets identical twins? I mean I've heard of identical twins and then another one so that is three, but I have also heard of identical quadruplets!

No need to reply if I am too nosy!

All best wishes, Italian.
