Something I never thought I would be saying - can you help us name our triplets?

Although I'm 28 weeks gone, I still can't believe this is happening. On our second course of IVF DH and I managed to concieve and we are expecting triplets! We are absolutely over the moon and are still praying for a safe pregnancy. We've found out that it will be two boys and a girl we are having so we need names! I like strong, classic names with good nickname potential for boys and a really pretty, feminine name for a girl.

So far we've briefly cobbled together the names Esther, Juliet and Hope for our DD and Rupert, Alfred, George and Stanley as possibilities for our DSs. Would you be able to help us expand our list?

Love Juliet, maybe Michael for one of the boys, would say Jack for the other boy but not keen on two siblings having the same initial (pain when it comes to post as they grow up although a boy/girl combo with the same initial may work as they'd either be Miss J Surname or Mr J Surname

Saw someone suggested Christopher, that could fit well

Sarahplane · 03/03/2012 00:00

Benjamin, Alexander, matthew, Michael or Daniel, James,
Amelia, lily, Mia, Elizabeth, hope, faith, eve, Hazel. Congratulations by the way. That's amazing!!!

Maryz - you either yell "Come here kids!" or "Come here Alex, Chris and Liz!"

if i ever have twin boys i shall name them Cassius and Emmett!

out of your names i love Stanley, Rupert and Esther or Hope.

when i am out i just yell 'come here boys' dd is just learning to walk and i guess i will then have to yell 'boys and dd' or else just boys and she will probalby just follow them along anyway!

Henry (may be biased)
Love Rupert on a little boy, not so keen on an adult for some reason.
Love Juliet (has been on my list since DC1)
Congrats and best of luck

Really big congrats to you. What an amazing start to the next chapter after your journey to get here.

Juliet hope is just gorgeous and very fitting. I personally would go with Alfred and George with those names.

Congratulations to you again. What an inspiring story x

FaithHopeAndKevin · 03/03/2012 08:38

ripsishere · 03/03/2012 08:45

Congratulations. Three all at once.
Don't over look Duncan or Adrian or Gavin.
Stanley is not nice IMO. Simon is though.

pictish · 03/03/2012 08:48

TRIPLETS!! How wonderful....many congrats!!! Grin

Hope, James and Samuel?

happyhorse · 03/03/2012 08:54

Juliet, George and Hector.

duchesse · 03/03/2012 08:57

I hope they're cast iron certain about the genders! My friends' triplets were supposed to be G, G, B, and came out as G, B, B (the boys are identical twins) but one had hypospadias (a slight malformation in the willy dept) so I guess maybe he looked more like a girl on the scans.

Anyway, congratulations! Like will be hectic but so much fun. Friends' trips are now nearly 4. Are you having help for the first year?

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 03/03/2012 09:00

I don't have any name ideas, just wanted to say congratulations! Best of luck and love to you all.

Wow...that's amazing!

I love Juliet. Stick with that...and work your boys names around it.

My friend has a Juliette, haven't met any others to date. Very pretty, just what a girl with 2 brothers needs Grin says the girl with 3 brothers

Hugh
Edward, Ed, Eddie, Ted, Teddy
James, Jamie, Jimmy
Alistair, Al, Ally,
Christopher, Chris, Kit
David, Davey, Dave

Gregory, Greg
Peter, Pete

Juliet, Andrew and Hugh sounds nice to me..

Thank you so much for the replies, it's really appriciated.
I completely get the comments about thinking of short names, it isn't something I would have thought of myself! I also want to avoid the same initials and more than one name ending in 'ie' or 'y'. Having said that I can't think of many abrieviations that don't end in 'ie'.
WRT Alfred we would use the nn Freddie as Alfie is so popular! Wilfred could also be a possibilty as we could use Wilf. Actually I could imagine using the names Wilfred, Rupert and Juliet but I would need to get them past DH!
Also definitely will get names sorted for every gender eventuality! For all we know three girls could come out!
