DD1 is Jessica, dd2 is due soon. I love the name Holly but am worried people will just think about a news story from several years ago.
What do you think?

Was the first thing I thought of. Sorry.

HolyNoSheDittantBatman · 17/02/2012 20:19

I immediately thought of the news story, sorry.

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 17/02/2012 20:19

Didn't cross my mind til I read what you wrote.

nagynolonger · 17/02/2012 20:20

It's the first thing that came to my mind. It always will for anyone adult at the time but it might not for DC peer group.

Lilyloo · 17/02/2012 20:21

I wouldn't seems a little weird tbh

Pandygirl · 17/02/2012 20:21

It didn't cross my mine either, but clearly it does to some people.

AnEcumenicalMatter · 17/02/2012 20:21

Sorry, my first thought too.

harrietlichman · 17/02/2012 20:23

I immediately thought of them too, sorry.

GrownUp2012 · 17/02/2012 20:23

Oh crap, I just realised I have an 'Ollie and Jessica'. I guess you either like it enough to put up with other people making that connection, or you don't so you don't use it.

Sparklingbrook · 17/02/2012 20:26

First thing I thought of. Sorry. But they weren't sisters.

EdithWeston · 17/02/2012 20:27

Yes, the murders immediately came to mind.

thingamajig · 17/02/2012 20:27

Sorry, me too. When we were trying to think of names that sounded right together for the twins, this combination came up until we realised.

marvinthemartian · 17/02/2012 20:27

does it matter if people make the connection?

surely no one would be crass enough to say 'oh, you mean like....?'

and no one is going to think you named your dds after the two girls either.

it's not like they are unusual names - both pretty, both popular enough.

FWIW I didn't immediately think of the connection, but I suppose it might have occurred to me given enough time.

Mrsfromwales · 17/02/2012 20:27

I see what you mean but if Jessica is the older DD then I guess they will usually be referred to as Jessica and Holly (which I wouldn't make the connection with) rather than Holly and Jessica which automatically makes me think of those poor girls x

Heswall · 17/02/2012 20:27

I really wouldn't myself

gaunyerseljeannie · 17/02/2012 20:28

These names will always be linked together with that tragedy in many minds, first thought I had. So sad.

VelmaDaphne · 17/02/2012 20:29

It was my first thought too I'm afraid.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/02/2012 20:30

Mine too

Petrean · 17/02/2012 20:30

It was my first thought too... Sorry.

Greythorne · 17/02/2012 20:31

Those poor murdered firls were my immediate thought.
Sorry.

suebfg · 17/02/2012 20:31

First thought I had too

Rowboat · 17/02/2012 20:31

Yeah, sorry. Soham for me too...

mumofjust1 · 17/02/2012 20:31

My first thought too Sad
