I actually quite like it. But I somehow sense it is wrong. What do you all think? I previous choice was Otis.

I wanted to call our baby Badger. I have been overruled. I like Fox as well.

blackoutthesun · 04/02/2012 22:23

makes me think of the x files - sorry

katz · 04/02/2012 22:23

wasnt fox the christen name of mulder in the x files?

bumperliciious · 04/02/2012 22:24

Otis is great. Fox definitely = X Files!

SandStorm · 04/02/2012 22:24

Another one for the X-Files I'm afraid although a new generation probably won't make the same associations. I quite like it.

IndieNile · 04/02/2012 22:25

Personally I prefer Wolf if you`re going for an animal theme.

Otis always makes me think of earache. :)

PrisonerOfWaugh · 04/02/2012 22:25

It could be worse!

JennyfromtheBlock · 04/02/2012 22:26

Ooh I seen a birth announcement in our local paper today baby was xxxx fox as a middle name.

PartialToACupOfMilo · 04/02/2012 22:27

I like Fox - first thought was, how cute Smile

BabyDubsEverywhere · 04/02/2012 22:38

How about Todd..I'm sure it means Fox...

BabyDubsEverywhere · 04/02/2012 22:39

But i have actually got Wolf on my list :)

PacificDogwood · 04/02/2012 22:41

I said recently that our 4 boys should have been Wolf, Bear, Raven and Griffin - DH was about to have me committed Grin.

OP, I like Fox - cute, clever and brave.

Btw, we have very, very conventional names...

HolyNoSheDittantBatman · 04/02/2012 22:43

No. They carry diseases and eat out of bins. If you must name your child after an animal call him Eagle or Lion or Panther or something.

MuffinTheMilf · 04/02/2012 22:44

I know a little boy called Fox, he's lovely though it's not a name I would have gone for.

MyGoldenNotebook · 04/02/2012 22:44

Think I do prefer Fox to Wolf on the whole. Thanks PartialToACupOfMilo ... funnily enough Milo was on our list! Didn't realize it was a chocolatey drink till I googled just now :)

Regarding middle names - if using Fox at all, may as well go the whole hog I think (no animal pun intended)

I really like Fox. Would probably use it as a middle name though.

Catsdontcare · 04/02/2012 22:47

I have no idea why but I actually quite like it and I am very dull about names!!

lisaro · 04/02/2012 22:48

Your husband sounds a bit of a beaver!

Tortington · 04/02/2012 22:48

makes me think of a right wing media outlet

NoHunIntended · 04/02/2012 22:51

Do it!

JoantheFennel · 04/02/2012 22:57

I prefer wolf or bear

PopcornBiscuit · 04/02/2012 23:14

No, sorry.

scottishmummy · 04/02/2012 23:27

If dh like so much,he can change to Fox
It's wanky and trying too hard

meditrina · 04/02/2012 23:29

For Fox sake, don't.

SlightlyJaded · 04/02/2012 23:34

The thing is, on paper my first instinct is 'quite nice for a potentially wanky name.' And by that I mean that I struggle with most many unconventional names and spellings, but first thought was 'hmmm actually quite like Fox' for a baby.

But then I imagined the boy/sullen teenager/middle aged Fox and did wonder if it will hold up IYKWIM

But if you both like it, go for it.
