I actually quite like it. But I somehow sense it is wrong. What do you all think? I previous choice was Otis.

Imagine shouting Fox across a park, supermarket etc. It sounds like a certain expletive...

NatureAbhorsAHoover · 05/02/2012 16:04

Do it, no-one will think of the X-Files in 20 years.

fanjodisfunction · 05/02/2012 16:08

I really like it, and its on our list, but we will have to move first as the road we live on has fox in the title and it will sound a bit crap.

AThingInYourLife · 05/02/2012 16:12

I can't believe anybody would consider this as a name, and I love wanky names.

It's ridiculous.

Fox?

Are people running out of unusual names ending in x?

What about Flex? Ibrox? Detox?

pilates · 05/02/2012 16:19

Awful please don't do it

IslaValargeone · 05/02/2012 16:22

I quite like it.

cheesesarnie · 05/02/2012 16:24

my sister was supposed to be badger.until my dad sobered up for a while and my mum put her foot downGrin

just doooooooooooooont!
it would be refered to as fantastic mr fox or foxy lady(p.s,thanks stuck in my head!)

OneLieIn · 05/02/2012 16:26

Why on earth would dh want to do that?

tammytoby · 05/02/2012 16:54

I know a little Fox, as well as a Tiger. And I think Jamie Oliver has a Bear.
Why not?

(but then I don't watch x files)

cece · 05/02/2012 17:16

Otis much much better than Fox.

suburbandream · 05/02/2012 17:22

Cheesesarnie- first thing I thought was Foxy Lady! But the scene from Wayne's world Grin

PercyFilth · 05/02/2012 17:23

Fox is a surname, which is probably why it occurs as a middle name.

seeker · 05/02/2012 17:27

Let him change his own name to Fox and call your poor child something that won't be a burden and an embarrassment to him.

HomeEcoGnomist · 05/02/2012 17:28

Fox? Badger??
Are you being serious?

There's another thread on the go about people commenting that names are dog's names (eg Rex / Benji etc)
Not sure what they would make of these suggestions!

These are not first names for human beings, please don't do this to your children.
[Otis makes me think of Timmy Time - I think he is an owl or something]

cheesesarnie · 05/02/2012 17:28

sub-waynes world has nothing on jimmi!

love tiger.if fox has a sibling can you call it tiger op?

Wants3 · 05/02/2012 17:30

Hi, golden don't know if you remember but I was your cycle buddy for a while on no brooking thread. Good to see you here! I like fox and Otis although neither are on my list. If you both like it go for it. :)

MyGoldenNotebook · 05/02/2012 18:17

Hi wants I do remember! You must be due soon? I'm just coming up to 20 weeks. Think I'm gonna go for Otis actually as I'm just not sure about Fox but do love Otis. DH is saying I'm being a coward! But I don't think babynames should be a bravery contest:)

We don't actually know if it's a boy yet ... just getting excited for scan and both fully decided on girls name - Constance Emilia. Have strong boy feeling though ... whatever that means xx

Love to see you on no brooking pregnancy thread, that's where I spend most my time!

littlemissnormal · 06/02/2012 09:58

Constance Emilia is lovely! Girls names so much easier than boys!

3boysgirlontheway · 06/02/2012 12:23

Fox is okay, but, Wolfgang shortened to Wolf is fab!

Littlecherublegs · 06/02/2012 13:40

No, dont do it!
Think of the poor kid!!

schloss · 06/02/2012 19:26

Why not use Tod, means Fox in some northern dialects!

MamaLazarou · 07/02/2012 14:09

I like Fox, and would have used it for our son if my husband hadn't vetoed it.

Scathac · 07/02/2012 21:35

I did teach a Fox once. Nice lad, but bizarre name. didn't go well with Mackechnie (btw not his real surname ... wouldn't do that to anybody!)

TheCuntwormUnderfoot · 08/02/2012 14:49
