Beautiful name. Love it. I don't find it poncy or pretentious at all.

Louplet · 24/12/2011 21:56

Love it. It was on our shortlist.

Catsmamma · 24/12/2011 21:57

I love it, I worked with a lady who was named that, but it is similar to my name so we couldn't use it for dd. ALthough she is named Eve.

Theas18 · 24/12/2011 21:57

nice, but depends how you feel about being one of several "eve/evie/evas" in her peer group.

GwendolineMaryLacedwithBrandy · 24/12/2011 21:58

It's absolutely beautiful but unfortunately shortens to the ever popular Evie. If you don't mind that then it's the perfect name.

tummytickler · 24/12/2011 22:01

Lovely. It is dd's middle name. We were going to use it as a fn with the nn Genie, but in the end decided the risk of Eve/Evie was to high (I really dislike Eve/Evie) so went with it as a mn. Beautiful meaning too.

nannynick · 24/12/2011 22:19

I've known one Evangeline, it's a lovely name and isn't that common so several won't coming running when you shout it across the playground.

Toobluntforsleighbells · 25/12/2011 13:50

Love it - House of Elliott & Evangeline Lilly from Lost are the only ones I can think ofSmile

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 25/12/2011 13:58

I really love it and was tempted but loads of my friends hate Evangeline Lily (the actress from Lost) for totally unknown reasons, but I doubt their reaction is a common reaction!

meditrina · 25/12/2011 14:46

It's a lovely name, but far too Christian fundamentalist for me.

oikopolis · 25/12/2011 18:33

Very very Christian. If that's ok with you, then it's very beautiful.

imip · 25/12/2011 22:47

dd3s middle name is Evangeline, first name Pearl. We get lots of lovely comments from her name, no one mentions the Christian link (it is nothing that would cross our minds. I've loved the name since I was a teenager, twas a song sung by Matthew Sweet. Seriously, noone has mentioned the Christian linik, I wouldn't worry about it...

Greythorne · 25/12/2011 22:49

Love it

PippiLongBottom · 25/12/2011 22:50
