Hi folks,

What do you think of the name Blake for a boy? DH has just come up with it, can't decide what I make of it.

Thanks!!

Love it! Would have used it for DC3 if she had been a heGrin

MelinaM · 15/11/2011 00:52

I like it too!

VelcroFanjo · 15/11/2011 00:57

Like it..reminds me of Blakes7 (old gimmer alert). It's not a common name but is not really unusual.

lisaro · 15/11/2011 01:29

Sorry - think it's bloody awful. It sounds like something from a 70's sitcom that the token trendy couple would call their child (think George and Mildred).

EdithWeston · 15/11/2011 05:01

It's OK.

It's a bit surnamey for me - I thought of William and Quentin (as well as Blake's Seven).

Boys names are so difficult because you want something different but not too extreme. My sister called her son Blayke and spelt it with a 'y'. Love the name

I prefer more traditional, less "surname-sounding" names (William/Oliver/Benjamin etc..), however there is something about Blake that I really like!

halecromp · 15/11/2011 09:07

I like Blake x

wigglesrock · 15/11/2011 09:07

Blake Carrington - sorry. Don't like it at all.

lordsugarslovechild · 15/11/2011 09:25

I know a little Blake. I like it.

canistartagainplease · 15/11/2011 09:29

No, horrid. Amy winehouses husband is called Blake something and it kind of suited him.

shoobidoo · 15/11/2011 09:36

I don't like it personally. But isn't it great that we all have different tastes Smile.

birdofthenorth · 15/11/2011 10:05

I love it. DH vetoed it because of Blake Fielder Civil being a crackhead. Shame.

poppydaisy · 15/11/2011 11:52

A little surnamey for me too, especially as Quentin Blake and William Blake are quite well known.

Don't like it, sorry.

ChangeyMcChangeaLot · 15/11/2011 13:32

Makes me think of Dynasty, big hair, cat fights etc. Not good.

FoxyRevenger · 15/11/2011 13:41

Made me think of Blake Carrington too

I like Blair. It's on my list if we have a boy next. Smile

KidderminsterKate · 15/11/2011 13:51

sorry - I don't like it.......

3isamagicnumber · 15/11/2011 14:19

Sorry, dont like it either....

LaFilleSurLePont · 15/11/2011 15:05

Love it.

MardyBra · 15/11/2011 15:09

Another old gimmer here immediately made me think of . All those papier mache model space ships, wobbly sets constructed from bits of junk left out the back of the BBC and some terrific ham acting. I'm not helping, am I?
