A name like Tabitha, that isn't Tabitha!

Hi

Expecting in 3 weeks. We already have a Polly. We loved the name Tabitha for our 2nd child until we moved to the country, and found there are loads here already.

So we're looking for something that is of a similar ilk and I was wondering if you had any suggestions?

What I like about Tabitha is that it ends in an 'a', but that is not essential. Also we can't have another name beginning with 'P'!

I always think that Tabitha and Matilda are very similar names.

I wonder whether Talitha is too similar to Tabitha - will people simply assume that she is Tabitha?

Constance, Martha, Beatrice, Jemima, Willow, Laurel and Harriet all have a similar vibe to Tabitha I think, and all work well with Polly (although maybe not Constance/Connie)

I immediately thought of Martha, when I read that your DD1 is Polly.
I also really like Alethea, I think it has similarities to Tabitha, without being too similar.

Well before I read why you like Tabitha, I thought Dorcas (Tabitha and Dorcas are one in the same person in the Bible)
but

I agree with Matilda and Martha.

We have a Tabitha - If she had had a sister (or two!) they would have been called Matilda and Clementine.
