If you could choose just one boys name as your all time favourite- what would it be?

We are really stuck on a name for DS2. We already have DS1 who is Joseph, we loved this name from day one and never ever had any doubts throughout the pregnancy and when he was born it just 'fit' and suited him perfectly. I think I love his name so much that thinking of another I like as much is impossible!

Currently names we like but don't LOVE are:
Thomas
Henry
Oliver

All fairly traditional and popular names but my question is if you could pick just ONE boys name, unusual, popular or traditional, what would it be??

Fraser (but I'm prejudiced).

I prefer Fox to Wolf

FiFiMax · 10/11/2011 12:17

Henry is a great name

LebkuchenStars · 10/11/2011 12:20

Samuel

We have a Joseph too and Samuel would have been a DS2 name. I also like Lucas and from your list would say Henry, but only because there are so many Olivers at DS' school (and were at nursery too)!!

Liking some of the other suggestions on here too though - Angus, Leo...

I love Jacob and Benjamin (Ben for short) and Elliot. We called DS Jacob and I still love it now. Also like Harry, Freddie (massive Queen fan!) and Jack.

I know a Wolf, a Fox and a Tiger!

I like James, Freddie and Arthur

Happymm · 10/11/2011 12:34

Love Alexander and Benjamin, also Noah :)

PosiesOfPoinsetta · 10/11/2011 12:34

I have three boys, with five of my favourite names between them.

If I had a little boy tomorrow he would be called:

Humphrey

mamasmissionimpossible · 10/11/2011 12:36

Jacob

Still can't make my mind up for DS2. I am thinking of Reuben or Isaac. Decisions..Decisions...

Im with LadyBeagleEyes, but I am also prejudice.

AVoidkaTheKillerZombies · 10/11/2011 12:39

Prejudiced

I also love Benjamin - when I was a child I was sure if I grew up and had a son that would be his name, but it doesnt go with our surname.

PamBeesly · 10/11/2011 12:40

I love Henry the most from your list, I really want it for my boy (currently 25 weeks pg with a boy:) but its my husbands name and he thinks it would be strange so it will be resigned to a middle name. Our number one (current) first pick is Rowan with Henry and Jacob as middle names.

kblu · 10/11/2011 12:41

I really love Joseph too and when I had ds it was a toss up between that and Samuel but we picked Samuel in the end. Goes pretty well with Joseph!?Wink

MustControlFistOfDeath · 10/11/2011 12:43

mrsruffallo Are you ever tempted to call him Wolef? Shock

Aleksander is my fave, good job DP caved in the end after I went on and on and on and on agreed with me Wink

TheLittleFriend · 10/11/2011 12:46

I'm totally in love with the name Jude for a boy atm. (Joseph is my second favourite)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 10/11/2011 12:47

Adam. If it was good enough for the first man... ;)

I do love it though, but can't use it for any DSs, so I don't mind telling.

pinkhebe · 10/11/2011 12:50

Toby.

I have no idea why we chose ds1's name, I'm not sure that either dh or I really love it! But 11 years on we aren't going to change it Grin

But I love the name Toby

Canella · 10/11/2011 12:53

Alexander was and still is my favourite boys name. But when Ds2 came along we really struggled for a name. I'm Blush but I'm not overly in love with the one we gave him - wish I'd called him Nico. But since he's 5 its a bit late to change it now.

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 10/11/2011 12:54

My favourite 'plain' name is Thomas, but I married one, and not into naming after parents.

My favourite 'out there' name is Gus. DH hates it.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 10/11/2011 12:54

Some gorgeous names here. I love both Wolf and Fox. Also Jude, and Aleksander (is that the Russian spelling?)

mumzy · 10/11/2011 12:55

Icarus, unfortunately it only came to me when I went to Cromer last year where the local butcher shop is called Icarus Hines ( imagines sturdy Victorian gentleman with handlebar moustache) and ds was already named.
