DS5 arrived yesterday at 9:54 pm (two and a half weeks early!) and with his scatty parents no where near choosing a name! After meeting him though we have narrowed it down to two combinations, both of which we love. They are -
Jeremiah Hendrix
Rudy Hendrix
(Hendrix being a middle name not our surname)
As we love them both we really want to get a wider perspective and see what others opinions are - we have already asked the midwife what her favourite is!

4madboys · 29/10/2011 22:51

go for rudi(y) op its a fabulous name Grin

MegBusset · 29/10/2011 22:52

Use one this time and keep having babies til you get another boy to use the other Grin

MuddlingThroughItAll · 29/10/2011 22:53

We're just so torn, we can't make a decision as we know that when we do we will regret it and wish we had gone for the other :(

I can tell you from experience it works beautifully.

Smile
crunchbag · 29/10/2011 22:55

Another vote for Rudy(i) :)

I would never make the connection with rude boy myself but then I grew up with boys called Ruud :)

thefirstMrsDeVeerie · 29/10/2011 22:55

If you call him Rudy [i] you get to call him Rudylicious.......

Just sayin'

4madboys · 29/10/2011 22:56

what did your midwife say? ours LOVED the name Rudi, he didnt have a name till he was two weeks old as it took us a while to choose, its an important decsion. can you not have jeremiah as a middle name also? Rudi(y) jeremiah hendrix sounds good to me Grin

MuddlingThroughItAll · 29/10/2011 22:59

All the other boys only have one though..At this moment in time we are actually seriously considering using Hendrix and a first name, nn Hendy. Would he be tormented and bullied for life if that was his name? I do love it but kids can be cruel!

thefirstMrsDeVeerie · 29/10/2011 23:06

I dont really buy into the bullying thing tbh. Kids will take the piss out of any name.

John or Joe have both been turned into reasons for taking the micky and you cant get much more mainstream.

Go with what you like. People only usually say rude things about names before you use them.

Midwives loved the name.

OH's family got it into their collective heads that we named him RUBY Hmm

Took bloody months to sort that out.

PumpkinSizedEmmaRoyd · 29/10/2011 23:09

Rudy

MuddlingThroughItAll · 29/10/2011 23:13

We're going to have a long think about it tonight (when we have time!) and will hopefully come to a decision. Will let you know what we choose!

I watched The Specials live last night and Message to you Rudy is the reason why I love the name!! Its a fab name. If it helps, the only othere rudy's Ive come accross have been Jewish. Hardly in the hood.

NoHunIntended · 29/10/2011 23:52

Congratulations. I vote for Hendrix!

expectingnumber2 · 30/10/2011 09:08

Congratulations! That is a tough decision, they are all great names. If it were me I would go for Jeremiah but go with your instincts! Good luck and enjoy time with your little boy :)

petitdonkey · 30/10/2011 09:15
would swing it for me!!! Love Jeremiah and Jem is such a cool NN.

Congratulations - (are you willing to share the names of your other boys? I only ask because I'm willing to bet they are great!)

thefirstMrsDeVeerie · 30/10/2011 10:05

kitya was that in Coventry? Well Jell [envy}

MuddlingThroughItAll · 30/10/2011 10:54

petit, our other DSs are Darwin Silas, Gabriel Wolf (Wolfie), Heath Cassian and Shay Orlando :)

OP posts:
DessieLou · 30/10/2011 11:16

I like both but prefer Jeremiah....good luck and congratulations!

ChippingInAutumnLover · 30/10/2011 11:36

You've had a name change haven't you Grin I can't remember your old name, but I do remember discussing Darwin Silas in the past!

I'm not especially keen on either tbh but as we've discussed before - none of your names are ones I'd choose and you'd hate my choices Grin That's what makes the world turn really isn't it!!

I prefer Rudi (with the i rather than the y - but whichever) but I do think Jeremiah goes better with your other boys names - so I suppose it depends how much that bothers you... Hendrix is even worse than the other two IMO Grin

MuddlingThroughItAll · 30/10/2011 11:46

No name change Chipping, I only joined a couple of weeks ago! (This isn't my first thread though)

Lonnie · 30/10/2011 11:47

Jeremiah without a dobut the other just to me sounds incomplete (they will spend their life being asked " what is that short for?")

noddyholder · 30/10/2011 11:47

Jem hendrix

4madboys · 30/10/2011 11:51

well my Rudi is 3 and a half and in that time we have been asked maybe once or twice if it is short for anything.
