Is Victor Lawrence TOO poncey sounding?

I love it but like my girls name have over said it to be non bias. Other contenders for middle name were George and Elwood

Victor Lawrence works for me. Also like Victor George.

thousandDenier · 27/10/2011 19:51

Don't think it's poncey at all. Both lovely.

I'd prefer Lawrence Victor so I could have a little Larry Grin

RosemaryandThyme · 27/10/2011 19:53

I love Victor top name.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/10/2011 19:55

I like it.

Psammead · 27/10/2011 19:56

I like it.

OliviaBirthdayGirlMumsnet · 27/10/2011 20:11

I love Victor. Surname begins with V so was a non-starter, what with it being an avalance of alliteration.

ceeceeanne · 27/10/2011 21:11

Thanks all!

This doesn't mean victor is on the rise does it? (because like 5 people like it haha!)

Good choice.

frutilla · 28/10/2011 01:17

Like it too. Lawrence Elwood is also nice...

persephoneplum · 28/10/2011 11:32

I think it's absolutely stunning :) Lovely choice.

persephoneplum · 28/10/2011 11:34

Sorry can I just point out that it's 'unbiased' not non bias. Sorry... it's the English teacher in me and far more a reflection on my pedantic nature than anything about you. Sorry... eek.

LaFilleSurLePont · 28/10/2011 11:36

Not 'poncey' but Victor is horrid.

LaFilleSurLePont · 28/10/2011 15:25

That said I think Victor is one of those names I'd really like if I met a child Victor who really suited it. I used to hate Lydia but since meeting one who was definitely a Lydia,I've loved it.

MrsJWelsh · 29/10/2011 16:01

My uncle is Victor Laurence (Vic- surname is Laurence) great name, not at all poncey! X

pointyfang · 29/10/2011 16:16

Great name. Fabulous

lurkinginthebackground · 29/10/2011 21:09

I think it is fine.

ceeceeanne · 30/10/2011 05:38

Thanks! Well apart from the English lesson! Know what you mean about suiting a child

Lawrence is nice, Victor is OK. I'd go for Lawrence Victor :)

I don't know what you mean by "have over said it"?

allagory · 30/10/2011 22:39

Lawrence Victor is better.
You are putting a burden of expectation on a child to call him Victor.
Coluld be a lovely person..but not much of a competitor...

Kaekae · 31/10/2011 12:47

No really hate it plus there was a guy on Big Brother called Victor. Grin

ceeceeanne · 01/11/2011 10:20

Think people will have forgotten about big brother victor soon. Over said it just means the more you say a name you like the more familiar it gets and you can't properly judge what it sounds like anymore. Not sure everyone will think of victor as having to always be victorious but if he takes after daddy and siblings he certainly will be competitive!
