Orla is lovely and different.

Not keen on Flora.

babybumblebeee · 12/10/2011 09:43

Flora. Can't bear Orla.

washngo · 12/10/2011 09:44

Both beautiful

Firawla · 12/10/2011 09:46

orla.

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 12/10/2011 09:46

Flpra reminds me of a vegetable fat spread & thrush (ie keeping the flora balanced)

That's just me though.

TheBolter · 12/10/2011 09:47

Flora

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 12/10/2011 09:48

DreamsOfScream · 12/10/2011 09:48

I like Flora more

MelinaM · 12/10/2011 09:56

helpmenow · 12/10/2011 09:56

comedaygoday · 12/10/2011 09:57

Flora

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 12/10/2011 10:03

Flora = spread. Not kind.

I love Orla, but it's so much nicer said in an Irish accent so that it's not rendered Aw-la...

fredandginger · 12/10/2011 10:03

Almost equally loved/hated then.... that's tricky!

Slinking: Lots of names mke people think of different things, this is life, not being unkind. I didn't say it reminded me of anything that socially unacceptable. It's butter!

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 12/10/2011 10:16

Grin No, it makes me think of the spread too - I think it would be unkind to name a child after a well-known spread. The teasing potential is great. Too great, IYKWIM.

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 12/10/2011 10:17

Oh I see, sorry!

I'm a div.

pinkhousesarebest · 12/10/2011 10:20

Deliberated over both for dd, but chose Orla. Love it.

fredandginger · 12/10/2011 10:21

Margarine is also my mother's main concern with this name. But she also taught a horrible Orla..

I love Orla! Gorgeous and under-used.

When I first met the only Flora I know I did think margerine, sorry. I don't now I know her, of course

corygal · 12/10/2011 10:26

Flora! Flora! Flora! just like Thanks.

Orla slightly try-hard and gharrrsley.

ithaka · 12/10/2011 10:29

I love Flora - I named my foal Flora!

It is a good Scot's name, simple, pretty, easy to spell and works on an adult too.

I never even though about the margerine until my children mentioned it!

susiedaisy · 12/10/2011 10:29

Orla love it!

Flora a maragarine!

Levana · 12/10/2011 10:44

Both are nice but I prefer Orla. Classy and a bit stronger sounding than Flora.

Also don't like Flo as a potential nickname from Flora.

Ephiny · 12/10/2011 10:55

I like Orla. Flora a bit old-fashioned and staid/sensible/dull. Lots of people will think margarine as well!

Fixture · 12/10/2011 11:36

I prefer Flora.
