Baby being born 2 weeks today by ELCS, we have found boys names so difficult, already have a 3yo DD called Holly.

Other names on the list were Alex (will probably use Alexander as middle name) Theo, Danny and erm..thats it. Hmm

DH has now fallen in love with the name Jack, and i do like it but it is soooo popular and i was one of 10 Laura's at school and known by my initial so that puts me off a bit. DH says it doesn't matter really and i am overthinking it.

What do you think?

So do I, but I also know plenty of Michaels born in earlier and later decades. The name has never been off the radar. It's the 'faddy' names that date.

Jack is very, very widely used round here. You will most likely have to add a modifier (initial for example) to tell him apart from the other Jacks. Not really a useful name imo (as it doesn't do its job of identifying very well).

Have you had a look at the ONS statistics - there is a list showing ALL the names used last year, with lots of underused but still lovely classic names. Perhaps you can find a name you both love? Good luck!

Do you not like Zach, OP?
Or Axl - same kind of sound. I quite like Axl Alexander Taylor!
Max?
Dax?
Jackson/Jaxon?
Lachlan?

Do you like Jacob? That can have the nickname Jack, but if you only used the name Jacob you might find the nickname Jake gets used more amongst his friends and Jack becomes a "daddy only" nickname... (not that I'm sneeky at all.)

Wonder what you went for? Have you delivered?
I think all the Jack's around here are about 10 years old and all the babies seem to be Oliver, Charlie, Alfie, Finlay or Noah now.

If you're still about i'd love to know what you went for!
