Fourth son - need a Scottish name. Used three already-help!

So we're onto either Lachlan or Brodie for this one but I'm looking for more suggestions. We already have a Euan, Callum and a Fergus. I had dismissed Innes but heard it in a shop today and quite liked it.

Im stuck - poor we'd Fergus was nameless for 10 days - I want to get this one cracked before he pops out.

I love Struan and Douglas. Dh is Scottish, but we went with Hebrew names for ds1&2 so now I can't have them - you can have them if you want!
Also love Malcolm and Donald.

I liked douglas-vetoed 3 times as dh knows a dodgy Dougie. Sad

I love Angus. Wanted to use it for DS2 but DH wasn't keen. Don't know if it's too similar to Fergus for you, but a good, strong name IMHO. Also really like Innes and Lachlan.

Not sure if Magnus has Scottish roots (should do as am Scottish. Blush) but also think it's a lovely name.

You already have my DS name (with a spelling variation), DB is Lachlan, and if I ever had another DS he would be Innes!

Any sort of surname: Grant, Fraser, Ross etc
West coast names: Donald, Murdo, Hamish
Place names: Angus, Moray/Murray

Callum is a derivative of Malcolm, so that wouldn't really work.

What does DB get shortened to? I'm worried we'd get lots of the 'Lochlan' pronunciation

Mmm.....Jamie doesn't mean nice thinks - supplanter...(but then Brodie means Ditch). How do we pronouce Naoise? I can see MIL having trouble-it took a while to grasp Fergus!!

DB has always been Lachie. Only time people used the 'o' instead of 'a' was in Canada.

I love it, but wouldn't have used it, because it doesn't go with my married surname, and I wouldn't give little DB the satisfaction Grin
