Is Willa too insane? I love it.

Willa is the nicest of your options :) Pretty, unusual, easy to spell, a nice change from Ella. Would it be short for Wilhelmena?

Hester too breathy, Cora too much like apple corers.

Flowerface · 23/08/2011 09:53

I don't know... I wanted her middle name to be Josephine - which is my Mum's name. 'Wilhelmina Josephine' is a bit much. Isn't it?! Or is it strangely cool, in an imperial kind of way?!

It's cool :) Both names are fab and work nicely together.

Pudden · 23/08/2011 10:13

I prefer Hester out of all of them- good, strong timeless name

MelinaM · 23/08/2011 11:04

Love Hester and CoraSmile ..I'd go with Hester as I feel Cora is going to become rather popular!

YougreatPamplemousse · 23/08/2011 11:05

I have a friend with DDs Hester and Willa :) They are great names.

minipie · 23/08/2011 11:07

I much prefer Hester and Cora to Willa.

Hebe? Cara?

MissHonkover · 23/08/2011 11:11

Oooh! I love all of them, and Josephine too, but I've noticed a few 'Cora' threads recently, if that matters to you.

I think Willa is lovely, but would worry a bit about people thinking it was 'Willow' or her being called Willie by nasty boys.

Hester is beautiful. Is Hebe pronounced Heebee?

cumbria81 · 23/08/2011 11:20

I like Cora but not the others

Iamkenny · 23/08/2011 11:43

Cora - more people seem to be mentioning it. Personally i prefer Clara/Ciara/Cara
Hester - Sorry I don't see the attraction, but it is perfectly fine
Willa - I like. I don't think Wilhemina Josephine is too much (In my head Wilhemina nn would be Bill but then that is Mallory Towers). But it works fine by its self. She'd probably get Willy anyway - just have her claim it for herself before they can use it to tease her with. Mina (also from Wilhemina) works well too, plus she is really cool in Dracula

And Hebe is Hee-bee. She was the godess of youth

InstantAtom · 23/08/2011 11:44

How about Cara, Ciara, Esther, Aster?

Shoutymomma · 23/08/2011 12:00

Not Ciara... you can't spit round here without hitting a Ciara or Kiera. Aster's nice, don't know any Asters.

Flowerface · 23/08/2011 17:23

DD is called Elsa, though. Couldn't really have Elsa and Esther/Aster....!

I did worry about Willa becoming Willy...

I think Cora goes best with Elsa actually. They suit each other nicely somehow.

Flowerface · 23/08/2011 17:33

I do too, but I worry that it's become too popular. How about Carina?

Carina is a lovely name :)

BustyStClaire · 23/08/2011 17:54

All ridic names! Willa??? Willa or wonta?

Flowerface · 23/08/2011 20:03

Are they ALL 'ridic'?

My Mum would probably say Willa Wonta, to be fair...

bittentothequick · 23/08/2011 20:52

Carina is nice too.

goinnowhere · 23/08/2011 20:58

I like Heater. also Wills, but nn inevitable. What about Honor?

Shoutymomma · 23/08/2011 21:13

Don't like Willa. Makes me think of Willo The Wisp and the voice of Kenneth Williams. Coraline is OK. Why Hesther and not Esther?

mathanxiety · 24/08/2011 03:56

Elsa and Wilhelmina would be fabulously Germanic, and Willa would be lovely as a nn. Willa as a name in its own right would be great too.

I think Cora is going to be the next big thing.

Hester (or Esther) and Elsa would be a bit much.

Carina reminds me of a drippy girl I went to school with. It doesn't have the gravitas of Elsa.

Hester and Elsa have quite a similar sound really; I wouldn't go for it as a pair, but then maybe a similar sound is a good thing!
I love Cara - we had Cara picked for a girl, but had a boy!
