Hi mumsnet. Dh and i have totally fallen in love with the name maddison for our dd. We were struggling with a middle name but now have come up with Maddison Honey Thomson! Opinions please or any other middle name suggestions. Thanks.x

I think that sounds lovely. But Madison Rose is nice too.

As a middle name it's quite sweet (no pun intended). It might have been hard to wear as a first name, but middle names don't suffer from that in the same way.

Hmm, not to my taste at all, since you're asking for opinions...! Wouldn't touch either with a barge-pole have either on my list, but likewise am sure you wouldn't go near my DCs' names. Maddison (is the double 'dd' really necessary?) will date incredibly, and Honey is very twee cutsie.

Can I ask why you're posting here - do you want to hear the good and the bad, or are you sort of assuming everyone is going to adore your choices?!

For the record, I'm not a 'safe name' person at all; I'm just not a 'cutsie' name type, nor am I very popular-therefore-bound-to-date name type either.

IMO Madeline is far far nicer than Madison. It looks much nicer written down too. Honey is ok for a middle name.

Is this your first child?

Maddison is hugely overused round here, she usually has a brother called Jaden or maybe Tyler.

I know an Evie honey. I personally think that is too cutesy, by Madison honey is alright IMO

I don't like either name to be honest. I think the double dd in Maddison looks particularly odd. Honey is overly twee.

Have you considered other sweet sandwich fillings? Raspberry and gooseberry conserve has a nice ring to it.

I used to have a hamster called Honey. It suited her.

Honey for a middle name is lovely. I like slightly unusual middle names for kids.

Hmmm. I love the sound of Honey, and I do think it sounds fine as a middle in general, but Madison/Maddison is a pet hate name of mine - it is terribly American! The trouble is it sounds like a surname, so 'Maddison Honey' sounds like a brand name.

I like Maddison. Honey is inevitably rather sweet but as it is a middle name she can use it or ignore it so it just gives her more options.

I like Madeleine more than Maddison, but Madeleine Honey wouldn't work because people would think you were talking about a snack.

To me 'Maddison' just likes someone wasn't sure how to spell 'Madison'. At least go with one 'd'. 'Honey' makes me think of lap dancers. Sorry! I know that isn't very positive....Its better to be honest though as a lot of people IRL will just smile politely and not tell you what they're really thinking.

Not sure Percy, a Mavizen is an electric motorbike, it's very high on my Christmas list for when I win the lottery, but chances are only hardcore bike-obessives have ever heard of it at all.
