we are not now going to have a boy (2 DDs, which is fab), but we were going to call any son Aoghan (ay-gon) - Irish name meaning 'little fire'. You can spell it Aogan too. Loved it, sorry we can't use it

When I was 14, I decided I'd call my twin girls Mafon and Mefus ( Welsh for Raspberry and Strawberry)

I'm happy to announce that I did not get twin girls.

I also thought about naming a boy Corwynt. ( Hurricane/tornado) That didn't happen either I'm happy to say!

My older self was much more traditional and named my DS after a Welsh prince and DD has a beautiful timeless Welsh name.

disclaimer - I wasn't expecting at 14, I was just, you know, thinking up names Blush

FebreezeYourJeans · 25/07/2011 22:35

For me there will now never be an;

Audrey, Eliza, Miranda or Tansy

Seth, Reuben or Gabe

DS's middle name is Lorien. Wish I'd saved it now as pg with #2, and if it's a boy we'll be stuck!

He would have been Ariane if a girl, still love it, still might use it this time...

Oh and I met a small Emaus (Em-ay-us) in the playground the other day - strangely like it!

GetOutMyPub · 26/07/2011 22:36

I found my little note book the other day, with some of our baby name ideas

Dh vetoed -
Martha
Elsie
Dolcie
Josie
Lilian

I vetoed =
Jennifer
Nicola
Nicole
Angela

I had a real thing for Granny names when pregnant, and I am certain Dh suggestions were all old flames. Although I quite like Jennifer now (but would never tell DH that)

In the end we were lucky to have two healthy & gorgous boys and gave them very ordinary, traditional names)

I also loved Chiara - once knew a fabulous woman with that name but it didnt go with our weird surname.

Also loved Vanessa but this was 10 years ago and Vanessa Feltz was very famous - it would have been wrong.

Really wondered if we'd lived abroad like we do now, when the dc were born if we'd have called them different names. Well i know i def would have done with ds2 - think he'd have been Michael, Johannes or Nico.

cece · 26/07/2011 22:49

DD would have been Sam
DS1 would have been Alethea
DS2 would have been Verity
