Nice or weird?

I like that they are different names and go together well.

Durrr - I mean unusual different, obviously they are not the same name!

not for me.

munstersmum · 16/06/2011 22:03

Definitely nice.

Bandwitch · 16/06/2011 22:06

eeeeeeeeyooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Melody is ok. Bit saccharine. But with Harmony, oh my good God no please no.

So, to sum up. NO

But apologies for being so negative. What about Melody and Romilly. or

Magaly and Romilly.

Magaly and Romilly sound like twins perhaps, but aren't so matchy and they don't go quite so far as to sound like Pandas at the zoo after their highlights done.

KoolAidKid · 16/06/2011 22:06

I like the names individually. But together as twins or siblings they're a bit cheesy.

curlyredhead · 16/06/2011 22:07

Def no, too twee together.

FebreezeYourJeans · 16/06/2011 22:09

NO NO NO

I went to school with twin girls Faith and Hope and then they really did it, they called the youngest daughter Charity.

Why-oh-why-oh-why

Don't do it!

BehindLockNumberNine · 16/06/2011 22:10

Oh no, please don't. Seems a bit try-hard.
Besides, my 18 year old neice had pet rats called Melody and Harmony and I thought it was a bit contrived then....

breatheslowly · 16/06/2011 22:11

I'd aim for two names that don't sound like a pair or themed. I would go with Melody (if you like it rather than thinking it goes well with Harmony) and then pick another completely different name. What about Melody and Caroline? Obviously up to you, but if I was having twins I would be very focussed on the idea that I was having two individuals rather than a set.

ChippyMinton · 16/06/2011 22:11

Are you a fan of Captain Scarlet & The Mysterons?

IHeartKingThistle · 16/06/2011 22:12

The two sisters in the children's book 'The Queen's Nose' are called that. Melody is the horrible one.

Honestly, the names are OK separately but if I met twins called that I'd be PMSL for days and days. Truly awful.

Sorry, but you did ask!

peeriebear · 16/06/2011 22:13

Weren't they the sisters in the Queen's Nose?

FromGirders · 16/06/2011 22:13

Melody, Harmony, Symphony and Rhapsody are all varieties of strawberries.

And Captains Scarlet's Angels.

Just so you know :)

emmanumber3 · 16/06/2011 22:13

Oh dear, no. That certainly wouldn't be my choice. Far too twee & icky - sorry. And really, they are the same name - two words meaning one thing.

Sorry to be so negative.

diggingintheribs · 16/06/2011 22:13

Sorry too themed - I was singing the names to the tune of 'Ebony & Ivory' in my head

Melody is nice but Harmony is a bit of a millstone (you just know she's going to have the worst teenage hormones!)

wannaBe · 16/06/2011 22:13

no no no no no no no no no!

When I was at school we used to have to listen to some christian recording - I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was kind of a dramatised thing about a song book that came to life and sang all these happy clappy songs to a group of kids, and then the story continued on that the song book (whose name was salty) met another book (whose name escapes me) and they had three little booklets called... melody and harmony and...rhythm!

meditrina · 16/06/2011 22:22

I'm not keen on Harmony, but Melody's OK.

Right now, people may conclude you're a huge Doctor Who fan.

UrsulaBuffay · 16/06/2011 22:23

How's about Ebony & Ivory?
Black Lace & Kajagoogoo?

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 16/06/2011 22:25

Terrible - and I say that as somebody whose dp had to stamp their feet and say no when I suggested Melody for dd1!
