Umm - it's a car?

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 18/05/2011 22:45

Its bloody awful!

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 18/05/2011 22:48

Oh dear no - sorry.

ClipArt · 18/05/2011 22:51

I quite like it actually!

jobrien1980 · 19/05/2011 14:43

Sorry, but nooooo!!!!!!

iEmbarassedMyself · 19/05/2011 14:47

God no.

jaffacake79 · 19/05/2011 14:54

No, sorry it's a car (white beetle!), or a type of bread.

MelinaM · 19/05/2011 15:57

Lovely nameSmile

cumbria81 · 19/05/2011 16:12

Snort. No!

EricNorthmansMistress · 19/05/2011 16:17

It's not a full name. And Herbert is dreadful.

Theantsgomarching · 19/05/2011 16:20

I love it but wouldn't be brave enough to use it

Selks · 19/05/2011 16:28

It may sound cute to think of a toddler called Herbie, but he won't thank you for it when he is a strapping eighteen year old. Choose a name that he will be able to live with.

deliakate · 19/05/2011 18:10

The only one I know deals weed, which is quite fitting.

DialsMavis · 19/05/2011 18:14

Love it. I wanted it but didn't use it because I wanted a full name and hate Herbert. But if that doesn't bother you go for it ( I actually had a DD anyway) I know 2 8 year old Herbies.

Incapinka · 19/05/2011 18:16

I quite like Herbie but am not a fan of Herbert. However my dad is called Richard and a few of his friends call him Herbie if that is of any use. I also know a Herbie who was born last year. He is gorgeous and we have nicknamed him Herbilicious!

ManicAnnie · 19/05/2011 18:17

Very sweet. Like.

442442 · 15/06/2011 17:57

I called my son Herbie, 2yrs old, and love it! I didnt want him to be one of 5 Jacks or Georges in his class, but still remains traditional and not made up or "trendy". Some names are so common now, if you call your child out in public lots of kids look up wondering if its them you are calling! My son is a cute cheeky chap who knows exactly what a VW Beetle looks like, and hey if hes known as the love bug when he is (much) older I would say theres a lot worse he could be known for!! I do not understand people who worry about what everyone else thinks, its their baby and you are never going to please every one, Why follow the sheep???

ThePrincessRoyalFiggyrolls · 15/06/2011 18:01

I know a 30 yo Herbie and it so suits him, it really does. And he is huge and strapping. Great name.

NettoSuperstar · 15/06/2011 18:01

Really silly and twee.

Tigerlili74 · 17/06/2011 07:18

Just posted on another Herbie thread. My Herbie is 4.5 years old now and he is a very individual little character and his name suits him. Herbie Hancock was a very successful musician so obviously it does work on a grown man too! There is also another Herbie in his class which we were very surprised about at first but it is becoming more popular.

RugbyWidow7 · 17/06/2011 21:29

No! Was my hamster's name.

nooka · 18/06/2011 04:28

I'm sure that there are lots of lovely little chaps called Herbie, but to me it is horribly cutsie as a given name, and Herbert really is too dated.

pinkylulu · 28/06/2011 14:54

Herbie is a fabulous name. Hardly anyone asks if it is to do with a VW Beetle. Our local VW garage even gave us some Herbie seat covers when he was born!

nokissymum · 28/06/2011 14:58

...goes bananas ?? Smile
No actually, i think its a cute name for a baby/boy, but not so sure about a 30 something yr old "herbie"Hmm

pollyteapot · 28/06/2011 16:59

My FIL's name is Herbie and he HATES with it a passion. It was old fashioned 70 years ago, even more now, sorry
