due tomorrow so this really is it.
Please help because I am just not sold on either of these but they are the best we can manage! Think I'm leaning towards Toby as Charlie seems to be quite common for girls as well as boys...

Charlie Tobias

or

Toby Charles

votes please!

unless you have some inspired suggestions that could take a last minute place!

thanks very much for your help

Those were my two boys names when I had ds.
We chose Charles.

Love toby as well though.

no help whatsoever

I really like Toby but it is very popular round here - he may well not be the only one in his class. (Also right now it is reminding me of Toby Young - in a not-pleasing way!).

Stanley?

Don't let Toby Young put you off, Toby Charles gets my vote.

Hedwig3 · 17/03/2011 14:34

Toby Charles is great.

ThisFeelsWeird · 17/03/2011 14:35

I know of more Charlies than Tobys.

PepsiPopcorn · 17/03/2011 15:47

I'd pick Charles Tobias (Charlie as nickname), but otherwise Tobias Charles.

mamaJK · 17/03/2011 15:53

i hadn't heard this toby young business - it won't put me off though.
Otherwise Charlie (Sheen, prince) would never have been on the list!
Boys names are so hard! They are either completely overused or sound strange - baby Trevor? Gary? can see the adults but not the babies - and i know I'm naming them for life but seriously.

most of the names you've suggested are already close relatives. Harry I love but know too many friends with baby Harry's and Jonah - that's actually a great name.

any more people could suggestions?
I have one more day to come up with the final name - really appreciate any responses!

Edmundo · 18/03/2011 22:15

Toby but I would put Tobias on the BC. I dislike Charlie.

squeak2392 · 19/03/2011 17:16

Charlie Tobias is a great name.

I can't say I condone nns as first names though, so I'd rather Charles and Tobias as opposed to Charlie and Toby, but Charlie Tobias does sound good.

Toby's one of my mega no-go names for a child. I know a staf called Toby, and he suits it so much better than my friend's-little-brother called Toby.

EllenJane1 · 19/03/2011 17:31

Toby is nice. So long as your name is not Shaw, or he will get Irish jokes for the rest of his life!

JuicyLips · 19/03/2011 17:45

Toby Charles is nice, (biased as have a Toby, but mine is Toby Sebastian)
