I know there is...somewhere out there, I live a couple of miles away and she invited all local MN to her lovely home in W.Bassett for a "Truly Madly Baby" party.

Hassled · 17/03/2011 14:10

Oh please please let there be one :o. I quite like "laptop-wielding harpies" though.

MmeLindt · 17/03/2011 14:10

Oh, well done, Mummyplonk.

Would you like some quorn salad while you wait?

frasersmummy · 17/03/2011 14:10

what if i just claimed to be to just shut him up???

BigBadMummy · 17/03/2011 14:11

According to Mumsnet Towers retweet there were 744 visits from the town.

Toby Young is "what I call" a twat.

mummyplonk · 17/03/2011 14:11

Have you got any nice ham to go with it please?

MmeLindt · 17/03/2011 14:11

Yes, Hassled. I have put in an order for one of these for every MNetter.

I'm prepared to move to RWB if necessary. I'm sure DH wouldn't mind one little bit. Or any of our friends and family.

sausagerolemodel · 17/03/2011 14:13

plonk! You're giving Toby ammunition! (but at least he'll have to throw it with a mouthful of silicon chips.)

MrsKwazii · 17/03/2011 14:14

He is a bit of twit isn't he. I particularly like the 'Mumsnet founders with their ideological allies' caption under the photo.

Like a stereotype much, Toby? Hmm

lostinwales · 17/03/2011 14:17

We must bump this until we find one. I wanted to place a bad tempered comment but would have had to register on the Telegraph website and I didn't have the stomach for it.

MmeLindt · 17/03/2011 14:22

I am keeping the "mid 30s" but reject the idea of buying Green and Blacks.

And shouldn't it be a 4x4, if we are going to resort to stereotypes?

annabelflowers · 17/03/2011 14:24

Ahhh. ignorant generalisations, Toby. The stuff that newspaper GOLD is made of!

Love the idea of being a lap top harpie though

strandednomore · 17/03/2011 14:25

Apart from the fact that he is male,he is about as close to his own description of a typical MN'er as is possible!

BecauseImWorthIt · 17/03/2011 14:25

You can reply to him on Twitter if you like, as he's helpfully posted a link to his own story.

BecauseImWorthIt · 17/03/2011 14:26

@toadmeister

If you're interested ...

Brahbrah · 17/03/2011 14:26

I don't get the relevance (in his article) of Royal Wootton Bassett. Can anyone enlighten me?

minipen · 17/03/2011 14:26

he is way out with his generalisations, I hope he chokes on his laptop!

mummyplonk · 17/03/2011 14:28

I aspire to be a laptop Harpie Champane swigging scumbag, have only got a pc on desk and bottle of Pinot, not yet tho too early even for me.

MrsKwazii · 17/03/2011 14:30

Oh no! I'm so worried that I'm on the wrong website now . Let me just run through Toby's checklist:

SAHM - no
Floating voter - no
Laptop-wielding harpy - depends who you ask
University-educated - yes. One to Toby!
Upper-middle-class - no
Mid-30s - early 30s thank you!
Two children - yes. Two to Toby!
Victorian house in North London - no, lots of us live outside London you know Tobe
Weekends in the country - ha, ha, ha
Fiat Multipla - no
Weekly shop delivered by Ocado - no
Fondness for Green and Black?s chocolate - prefer a StarBar myself
Knows someone who knows someone who once went out with Ed Miliband - I very much doubt it
Skinny jeans - with these thighs?

So according to Toby's obviously completely accurate MNer profile I score 2/15. Should I be getting my coat? Hmm Grin

GlynisIsFixed · 17/03/2011 14:32

I'll let Toby keep his little fantasy of what a MNetter looks like Wink

Pity this one is comprehensive school educated, mid 40's who MNs on a home built PC, so most definitely NOT a laptop wielding harpie Grin

Who also thinks Mr Young is a bit of a twunt.

LostInTransmogrification · 17/03/2011 14:32

Wow, he is so spot on it is as if he has been following Tallulah,Felix and I around. And I thought that the strange man was just a tramp looking through our bins for food (silly man, all our food waste is composted and used in our kitchen garden, natch!)

Why does a bunch of women having an opinion threaten 'them' so much? Private Eye referred to us as a 'mumsy' website, which is just as bad, 'they' really don't like it, do they?

LoopyLoopsChupaChups · 17/03/2011 14:34

Nor, me, why RWB? What's his point? Does he have a point? Is there any point to him?

mpsw · 17/03/2011 14:34

5/15 for me.

He didn't say he looks at the "Forces Sweethearts" though. Just the education forums - and probably a peek around AIBU and active convos.
