Name my campervan

I'll probably jinx it, but we are hopefully buying a traditional vw campervan this afternoon. I feel it's a he. He is blue, a sort of lovely sky blue that you get on a summer day. A bit like the blue banner at the top of here. He was made in 1974.
So, any suggestions for names? As it's a van the more quirky/humourous the better

I had a cream camper called Claude. He was lovely... sigh.

NormanTheForeman · 09/03/2011 13:24

Norman is a great name IMO Wink

purplepidjin · 09/03/2011 13:36

My T3 is Kevan, and the bug is Mike Wazowski because he's green...

Dad's (white) T3 Syncro is Obi Van Kenobi, and a mate has a black version called Darth Syncro.

Number plates are a good source of inspiration for names - I had a Panda called Ned Kelly, and parents had a Space Cruiser called Tillie.

Yay for Dubs and Dubbers! Will we see you at Santa Pod for Big Bang in a couple of months?

fifi25 · 09/03/2011 13:38

Bert or Norman for me Grin

Grumpla · 09/03/2011 13:39

The Blue Baron?

emily82 · 09/03/2011 13:43

Stanley or Arthur would be my choice. Shame it's not a ladyvan - I've always fancied a Martha. Then you could sing Martha, My Dear to her. She'd like that :o

Are you sure the campervan is a boy?

Alanis Morissette was also born in 1974.

I'm liking Alanis.

We got it !!!! Grin Grin Grin. I didn't jinx it by asking for names before we had secured it.

Don't know why, but just feel it's a he. At the moment I'm liking Nelson and Dougal. Skye would be suitable as he is that shade of blue, but its a little girly - I'm sure he's a boy Confused

Purplepidjin, propably not be at the VW meet, just cause it's too far south. I'm up in Scotland. Hmm, maybe should call the van Jock?

Keep the suggestions coming and I'll show them to DH when he gets home tonight - with the camper!
