Names you'll never get to use...

When I was pregnant with my 2 DS's I had boy and girl names decided on before the 20 week scans!

I had 2 DS's, and after the last one we decided no more, so my girl name will go unused and I feel a little sad about it. It was a great name.

Anyone else feel like this Grin

Yes. I never had a little Leo.

What was your unused name, OP?

kando · 27/02/2011 19:05

I'll never have my little Billy. But my 3 dds are great!

Articulate · 27/02/2011 19:07

It was Nyree, I just loved it (I might be alone in loving it!)

Dh had the snip so will never have an Ella, Darcy, Benedict or Louie.

Wanted dh to have snip as much as he did but when we got the letter to give us the all clear to stop using contraception I had a little cry Sad

Oh Durham :(

Does it count if there are names you can't use because friends or family have used them for their DC's. DH and I decided if we had a girl we would use Rose as a middle name after DH's mum. My DSis used it as a middle name for her DD although the name has no significance. Is it acceptable for me to use it as well?

notamummysgirl · 27/02/2011 19:20

Grace.

Would have been Lily as well, but I used that name for my cat Grin

mybootsaremuddy · 27/02/2011 19:37

articulate Nyree is beautiful.

All my dcs have Maori middle names as my grandfather is maori making me 1/4 maori(i think)!! If i have another dd i would be tempted to use Nyree as a mn but i think its a form of dd1s mn Ngaire so will prob have to think of somthing else.

nickytwotimes · 27/02/2011 19:38

sarah and katherine

I always wanted a dd called Lily, I adore it as a first name but it's actually my dd's and dp's surname so will never use it properly.

nulgirl · 27/02/2011 19:43

We are definitely stopping at two so we will never get to use the girl's name that I had picked when pg with ds. I keep on encouraging my friends to use it but no takers so far- mmmmm. The name is Arianne which we could have got away with as dh is French. Anyone fancy using it? Would make me so happy :)

COCKadoodledooo · 27/02/2011 19:43

Daisy Joan. I wouldn't have had her even if my babies had been girls though because dh hated it.

Iris
Electra

pirateparty · 27/02/2011 20:07

sevendwarves - I don't see why you can't use it especially as it's a middle name. And lovely too!

SarahScot · 27/02/2011 20:08

Marnie Sad Sad Sad

38wks pg with DD now but DH hates it. I've known this for months but still can't get over it - all the other names in the world are rubbish and not at all suitable for my DD.

littleomar · 27/02/2011 20:08

paloma
natalie/nathalie (never had to decide whether it was pretentious to include the h)

lizzie1180 · 27/02/2011 20:09

I always wanted a Lucy but have married a man with the surname Rolls, Lu Rolls would just be cruel.

CaptainNancy · 27/02/2011 20:10

Rory, Gregory and Rufus- DH can't pronounce 'r's very well (Nyree would be out too!)

Septimus- I am not having 7 just to use it

Kester, Arlo, Milo - DH vetoed

Beatrix and Cecily Margot- DD2 turned out to be DS

sevendwarves · 27/02/2011 20:10

nulgirl Arianne is beautiful. Hmm, Arianne Rose, I may have to run that past DH (if I ever have a girl!)

englishmummyinwales · 27/02/2011 20:14

Natasha - have wanted a little girl called that since I was little myself, but had two DSs. We are planning to get a dog soon and I think I might call it Tash to compensate!

Also Jonah which I battled for both times and DH hated. I do love my boys names though.
