Romily or Verity .., not much time left?

We are going round in circles.. is Romily too unusual? I had to show DH a utube clip of Romily Weeks to convince him that it is a real name. We also like Verity but are concerned it may be a little "prim".

OP posts:

I never quite understand why, when OP is asking for help to decide between two names why someone has to post and say they like neither Confused.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 10/02/2011 15:14

Romilly

mandy1978 · 10/02/2011 16:36

i love thename romilly. i really wanted it as a girl name as we met the cutest little girl called romy on holiday once who befriended our little boy.

however our family looked at us like we were weird and i dont have the balls!!!

but i think it is beautiful

xxxx

Love love love love love Verity. Please use it because DH hates it and so I can't.

Not keen on Romilly at all.

Rhubarbgarden · 10/02/2011 18:16

Romily. I dislike Verity as it reminds me of a creepy Kenny Everett character (how old am I)

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 10/02/2011 18:53

Verity is the name of David Essex's daughter (how old am I, too?) not that that should put you off - just saying.

And Mandy1978 - we got those faces from DH's family - I can only say it made me more convinced to use it (but then I can be really awkward Grin).

ThatllDoPig · 10/02/2011 19:23

Romilly is pure gorgeousness. I like the two l's but don't know why.

cazzybabs · 10/02/2011 19:25

I love Verity

cece · 10/02/2011 19:30

Verity

highlystrung · 11/02/2011 10:19

Verity is much, much nicer than Rommilly IMHO. Lovely name that works well on adults too.

mandy1978 · 11/02/2011 11:50

ohthereisalight, dont give me ammo i can be a so and so for being awkward as well!!! i had a little doubt because my ds name is benjamin so quite classic and it didnt go quite as well (ben and romy).

oh bugger i still love it!!! maybe when the baby comes i might change my mind.. eloise is our first choice but dh and i LOVE the name romy...

to be honest op i like verity as well, both pretty names!

xx

AnnOnimous · 11/02/2011 20:12

TransatlanticCityGirl · 11/02/2011 22:56

I'd vote for Verity

A1980 · 12/02/2011 00:46

Verity is the name of the polycysitc ovary charity so that's all I think fo when I hear it.

Romilly's nicer.

Linnet · 12/02/2011 01:17

Verity, romily sounds too much like romany

Bue · 12/02/2011 21:32

You've clearly hit a nerve with these names, OP! People seem to have some strong opinions :)

I like Verity but I LOVE Romilly. Romy is such a pretty nn too.
