At the mo our favourite name for a girl is Juliet/Juliette. I love it as it's not too popular/ too cool/ too unique and so pretty!

Just wondered what your favourite spelling was and also what you thought of the name?

Gorgeous name :) I like both spellings but prefer Juliet (can't see any reason to add the extra letters really!)

Pterosaur · 24/01/2011 21:12

I like the simplicity of Juliet, and if it's good enough for Shakespeare, etc.

Pretty name, either way.

LoopyLoopsHasComeBackBrighter · 24/01/2011 21:36

I prefer -tte.

Duhart · 24/01/2011 21:39

Juliet. -tte is gilding the lily IMO.

littlemisslozza · 24/01/2011 21:39

Love it, particularly spelt Juliette. It just looks prettier to me!

DownyEmerald · 24/01/2011 21:48

Juliet. So simple and beautiful.

Lamorna · 24/01/2011 22:02

Juliet so pretty and simple, the extra letters are not needed and spoil it(she will also have to spend her life correcting people on spelling)

Sossiges · 24/01/2011 22:03

Juliette (very pretty)

Plonker · 24/01/2011 22:08

Love Juliet/Juliette

I much prefer the spelling Juliet. Simple and elegant.

I think the 'ette' frillies the name unnecessarily in the same way as Isabel/Isabelle or Annabel/Annabelle.

Jojay · 24/01/2011 22:09

Love Juliet.

pinkylulu · 24/01/2011 22:16

U don't need to add the extra letters.

BuntyPenfold · 25/01/2011 09:02

Love both spellings.

Hedwig3 · 25/01/2011 09:53

Juliet

LouMacca · 25/01/2011 10:06

Lovely name. Prefer Juliet.

Rhubarbgarden · 25/01/2011 10:16

Love Juliet. Was on my shortlist but my sister-in-law has just called her baby Juul, so that's that one out. Bah.

fragglerocks · 25/01/2011 21:19

Wow, first name I have put on here that everybody likes! Thanks ladies, still not sure about spelling, I like the simplicity of Juliet but also like the french spelling of Juliette! Thanks for all your lovely positives! Grin

I like Juliette and you can have Jet as a nickname which is so cool and perfect if she is a tomboy. It is a possible if our next baby is a DD.

PlanetLizard · 25/01/2011 21:23

Ooh Jet is a cool nickame!

fragglerocks · 25/01/2011 21:25

I like Lettie as a nn but Jet is quite cool!!

reddaisy · 25/01/2011 21:28

Go with Jet! [biased emotion]

twinmumplus1inthetum · 26/01/2011 12:30

I have a Juliet. She is just learning to write her name so I think shorter is better!
Her twin sister called her Juju when they were little and so that is her nickname, but she prefers it not shortened.

cocklewarmer · 26/01/2011 12:34

Juju is so sweet!
Love Juliet, beautiful name, very pretty and not too popular!

ComeAlongPond · 26/01/2011 13:14

I absolutely adore Juliet.

reddaisy · 26/01/2011 16:41

twinmumplus1 - what is your Juliet's twin sister called? [nosey emotion]

twinmumplus1inthetum · 27/01/2011 10:12
