I only know one six yr old called charlotte if that helps
I know a teenage charley which presumably stems from Charlotte

Fimbo · 23/01/2011 15:57

I know a teenage Charlotte and ds has 2 in his class (7yr olds).

planetalice · 23/01/2011 15:58

I hope im wrong and Charlotte is not super popular at the moment as its such a pretty name and she can play about with Charley, Lottie and hopefully not but even Chaz!!

I also think it is one of those difficult names. I am Scottish so it sounds like Charlit when I say it.

MirandaWest · 23/01/2011 15:59

I can only think of one under 18.

onimolap · 23/01/2011 16:01

In 2009 (most recent year for which full official statistics available), Charlotte was in 14th place, with 2778 girls given the name.

pinkhebe · 23/01/2011 16:02

I know of 1 11 year old

planetalice · 23/01/2011 16:03

14th place not bad, I suppose its our common surname that is making me think twice....looking good for Charlotte so far! :)

I name DD1 Charlotte in 1984, everyone said it was old fashioned but it became very popular a couple of years later when Dallas was on TV.

I don't know of any younger ones called Charlotte.

planetalice · 23/01/2011 16:18

Maybe im just in a highly populated Charlotte area :) :) I move around every few years with my job so maybe Charlotte is a strong option :)

PlanetLizard · 23/01/2011 16:51

I can only think of one baby Charlotte.

cece · 23/01/2011 16:52

I don't know any pre school age or baby or toddlers called Charlotte.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 23/01/2011 16:53

I only know one

cece · 23/01/2011 16:54

Don't worry too much about statustics. Go for a name you like and Charlotte is a lovely name.

FWIW I named DD a name that was about 300 in the name tables. I know about 6 of them, all under 10! And I only know one Olivia (which is supposed to be one of the most popular names! LOL

taintedpaint · 23/01/2011 16:54

I can't think of any either. It is a very beautiful name though. :)

theresapotatoundermysink · 23/01/2011 16:57

I think Charlotte is a name which is always around and always popular.

newportstateofmind · 23/01/2011 17:00

There are 2 Charlotte's in the class I teach (6-7 yr olds). Both lovely children though, which always makes me like a name!

CockneySparra · 23/01/2011 17:57

I know two adult Charlottes, but no children with the name.

HelloOutThere · 23/01/2011 18:06

All 3 dds have best friends with that name - it is VERT popular, but so pretty. Even Lottie is cute!

HelloOutThere · 23/01/2011 18:08

loonyrationalist · 23/01/2011 18:13
