Suggestions please.....!

Ok,unexpected pregnancy alert! so we haven't done that thing where you randomly discuss names before conception ;)

Just found out we are having our 3rd girl. Wonderful news, but a boy would have been easier as we both agree on a boys name. Sheesh! he likes Amelia (in fact he is stuck on it) but as our surname is Moore I think the 'M' sound is too much? I like Lily (popular I know, but I like it) he isn't keen on my other suggestions of Regan, Rowan, Sian & Daisy.

Help! :)

Amelia Moore is just toooooo much on the 'm' front I think!
Of the names you list I like Rowan and Daisy the best.
I really, really cannot stand Regan.

How about

I think all of these sound nice with the surname Moore. Any good?

Thank you for the suggestions so far. I love Florence, but DH has the lovely habit of connecting names..my suggestion of Florence was greeted by him humming the tune to 'The Magic Roundabout' which meant he didn't like it!

Tabitha is my cat, I already have an Evie so Ivy is a bit much..and although I quite like the others DH turned his nose up.

Looks like I have 2 votes for Amelia then? Grin

I know an Amelia and everyone calls her Lia.

Amelia Moore is good too but always consider what she will be called by her mates when she's older.

The other obvious one is Amy Moore. That too is all good, I think.

I immediately thought how lovely Amelia Moore sounds. The ms don't run into each other so it does sound lyrical rather than a mouthful.

Elizabeth Moore, with Lily as nickname.

My great-grandmother was Elizabeth, but everyone called her Lily.

The 'm' repetition is a positive in my mind, not a negative! My dd has a similar repeated 'f' sound and I like it.

It looks like Amelia is the chosen one, and now I have seen it wrtten down several times I like it too! we have discussed the shortened versions, and have seen Millie, Mimi & Lia mentioned before. Of course we will probably have little control over what she is named by her friends, but those are quite inoffensive.

Prinpo..I'm afraid our chosen boys name was Jack. I know I know..it's 'terribly' popular, but was the name of both grandfathers & we liked the fact that you really can't mess with it!

I think Amelia Moore sounds lovely!

Our surname begins with an M too and DH is very keen on the name Amy, but like you I thought that Amy Mayfield sounded a bit too MMMMMy. Doesn't seem to be as over powering with Amelia though! Sounds perfect with your surname.

I also like Amelia Moore, they go beautifully together and I dont see it as too similar to your step-daughter.

He is fine with it, he didn't see a similarity at all. It appears it was just me who saw it as most people have reassured me :)

I was going to suggest Olivia too. Olivia Moore sounds better, but is, if anything, more popular.

I wouldn't have an Amy and an Amelia even though they are different names. Fine for cousins or friends' daughters but they are too similar for sisters.

Especially as Amelia has ALL the sounds in Amy, but is more than Amy. Amber and Amelia would be less uneven, as although they both start with AM, one has a B too, and one has an L. amy is like a nn for Amelia. Or could be.

I like Amelia Moore- she sounds like a british actress! (well that's my opinion).

Its about how much you lke it really! I like Cordelia but my hubby has totally put a stop to that.
