Just spotted it in another thread, DH likes it too (miracle). Have a Caspar already. What think you?

Monty Knobsqueak. Is what it makes me think of.

Please don't do it!!

doitorelsa · 13/12/2010 19:50

Who is Monty Knobsqueak?? Doesn't sound good...

Iamcountingto3 · 13/12/2010 19:51

I like it, but then I know a totally charming 6 yo Monty...

autodidact · 13/12/2010 20:02

My lovely cat is called Monty.

ShoppingDays · 13/12/2010 20:34

Sorry but I don't like it. It's a bit wet.

I think you'd get fed up of "The Full Monty" jokes too.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 13/12/2010 20:59

I really like it and we considered it - but weren't really convinced it was 'us' if that makes sense.

I think it goes very well with Caspar.

Avantia · 13/12/2010 21:11

Monty for a black labrador - otherwise not keen Grin

doitorelsa · 13/12/2010 21:12

ah, thanks. I am liking it more and more, though I did know a yorkshire terrier named it once. I'm sure that'll fade though.

Love it.

MarniesMummy · 13/12/2010 21:52

Love it,
but having seen Withnail and I, everytime I hear Monty, it's followed by "you terrible c&*t" in my head.

EauRudolph · 13/12/2010 22:02

I know 2 under the age of 2 (one Montague, one Montgomery). It's not really my cup of tea but I can see why some people like it.

LetThereBeRock · 13/12/2010 22:12

It's awful. Utterly wet.

MelinaM · 14/12/2010 00:16

Oh I absolutely love Monty! would you use just Monty or use a full version? Like Montague, Montgomery ...

anonymosity · 14/12/2010 00:54

I like it enormously but only because of Monty Don.

I do not like Casper - its too fey and associates with uber posh / alternative schooling.

ChippingIn · 14/12/2010 01:16

There was a little boy at nursery called Monty - the first time I heard it I was very Hmm Grin but he was such a lovely kid, full of fun and really, really sweet that I like it now. I don't think it's 'me' enough to call a child of mine that, but for other people I like it Grin

doitorelsa · 14/12/2010 12:31

Thanks everyone, very mixed. I am not sure basde on these. Cheers for your comments on the name of my exisitng DS anonymosity, I'll be sure to pop out and change it this afternoon. You spelt it wrong too

MistletoeMush · 14/12/2010 12:59

Reminds me of 'monty the dog with glasses'.

I think I would prefer it if it was short for something.

Having said this I do think that it goes well with Caspar

anonymosity · 14/12/2010 19:16

Oh don't be offended - you can't please everyone all the time. I must have misread your post though because I'd have been polite enough not to say it if I'd realised. Nobody likes my name either and no one can say it correctly, ever.

AnnOnimous · 14/12/2010 19:43

My friend's dog is Monty

I like Caspar and Magnus.

AnnOnimous · 14/12/2010 19:44

Oh, and BTW I love Caspar, it is really unusual without being at all weird.

It's is delightfully out there!

MrToad · 14/12/2010 19:46

Our gerbil is called Monty.

There are several little Tarquin- esque Montys in our area

festivecoatgate · 14/12/2010 19:47
